Loving this company
This company makes great little sensors that work over surprising distances. The graphing interface that's available online is actually really useful. I will absolutely be installing more of these in the futureI will absolutely be installing more of these in the future.

Garden Helper
We used the soil temperature sensor to help us determine when to schedule spring transplanting. It worked well.

Provides soil TEMPERATURE not soil MOISTURE readings
This product was the top result for "soil moisture". Shame on me for not getting the right model. If you want soil MOISTURE readings, then go with Ecowitt's WH51 model (which I have since ordered multiple). This WN34BS model only tells me the temperature of the soil which is boring.

worked strait away
just put the battery in and the software picked up the unit. Then stuck it in the backyard and have had no problems with it.

The Black Sheep Sensor for Soil Temperature
I like the automatic pairing of the sensor with the gateway. I use this soil temperature sensor to see soil temperature readings. Soil temperature and soil humidity provide guidance for grass or crop status. This relates to determination of red flag warnings for fire weather watches. I do not like the documentation. The documentation is unclear and incomplete. It seems like the document provided on their web site is for code written in C, C++, or possibly even Java. The gateway is very hard to access, and even if you are very experienced programmer it is very likely you will need to contact support. You might even need to do a review stating facts they to not like to get their attention to actually get support to provide meaningful help. I would like it if they provided some code examples in the most popular programming languages like 1) C, 2) Java, or others. If you already know C and have used telnet before then you should be able to figure out how to use the gateway.

Great thermometer for compost temp
I use it to keep track of the temperature of my compost to make adjustments to the content. The range is great and it’s been working reliably. It’s also relatively accurate and I’ll be adding more of these to me sensor collection.

Simple set up - working well so far!
I had been looking for a digital, wireless, soul temp thermometer that would report its monitoring to my phone. Most options I looked into were $300 plus and this soil temp thermometer paired with its wireless hub ran about $60. So far so good - but I’m curious how it will hold up in the elements this year…. We will see!

Tut was es soll, längere Sonde währe gut....
