It's AMAZING!!! Excellent for Summer.
I adore my Aricove Weighted blanket! It's so amazingly silky soft and lusciously even weighted. Something not shown in the product description, is the 4 loops running down both long edges of the blanket. So, I attempted to remedy that and took my own picture and circled the ties on one side. So, if you were wondering if it has loops for a duvet cover, it's got a total of 8. It could probably benefit from adding two more, one at the top and one at the bottom but I personally, haven't had much trouble with bunching inside a duvet cover. The duffle bag it comes in, is large enough to house both the blanket and a thin duvet cover, if you roll the blanket up inside the duvet cover. Super handy to have. One of the unique qualities about this blanket, is the edging. Yeah, you kind of see it in the pictures, the diagonal forming of the squares, but in order to get that, the edges are formed up of triangles. Some of you may be saying no duh, but I found it really elegant, especially how they continued the alternating small, slim pocket to the larger pockets all the way to the edges. This thing looks like its been quilted, so you know there's been a lot of work put into these babies. Now, where sleep is concerned, it's really helped me a lot. I hadn't really thought about weighted blankets, didn't really need the extra weight, I've always slept fine in the summer till this whole COVID 19 crap hit.During the winter, I tend to get really cold and so typically have three to four comforters piled up over me which then ranges between 12 to 16lbs of weight. Of course, when Summer hits you lose all the weight to lessen the heat. But this summer, when I removed that luscious weight I was struck that night a night terror. The following two nights I had nightmares. The evils of the night tapered off, but I really wasn't sleeping all that well. Don't really know what might have changed to cause the anxiety. The only thing I can think of is the COVID 19 scare hitting my subconscious. During that time, I was fervently wishing I could curl back up in my winter fortress, but that's just way too hot. So, I needed to find another way to get that weight back and thus my search for a weighted blanket began and this one, really stuck out at me. The others just kind of looked cheaply made to me, what with the simple, basic squares that don't look like they'd hold up all that well when put under active use. I kind of bucked at the price but I kept coming back to it, simply because of the apparent quality. I knew my mom had also been curious to try one out, so, I went ahead, bit the bullet and purchased two.I instantly started sleeping better, though I found it initially strange to feel the weight, without the bulk. But all at the same time, it just felt so amazingly comforting. And the best part, it's a lot cooler than three comforters! It took a couple nights for my mother to get accustomed to it, but once she did, it was the best night's sleep she'd had in a long time and she absolutely loves it too. I purchased a third one for one of my roommates for her birthday, and while she wasn't necessarily having sleeping problems, it actually seemed to help her with her snoring. So, yeah, we love our Aricove blankets. They are beautiful! So luxuriously soft, you get the weight without the heat. They're truly awesome and I can't help but wonder how on earth I ever made it through summer without one of these. For that reason, I marked warmth with a one, because it's not going to keep you warm. Not in my opinion. But then, that's why I bought it...

Heavenly - Update
I've been researching cooling weighted blankets for a long time - not because I wanted the best on the market, but because (1) I'm desperate for a good night's sleep and (2) it seemed impossible that something heavy could also be cool. It defies logic to me. Several sites said the Aricove was the best on the market for several reasons, i.e., washable, quality of product, great customer service, etc. I bought it because it was one of only a few that came in 10 lb weight and wasn't for kids with a cutesy pattern. I have a Queen size bed but I only needed the blanket on my side of the bed and I weigh 110 lbs. I ordered the Aricove blanket on Monday afternoon and received it the next morning around 7:30 a.m. Amazingly fast delivery. To say I was skeptical was putting it mildly, but again, I'm desperate for a better night's sleep and use everything to help including CPAP machine, Melatonin, Valerian root, keeping my room cool, no caffeine after 8 a.m. - but to no avail. I still wake up once every 1 or 2 hours every single night. My sleep is not a deep sleep and I get up tired every day. I was tired of being tired. The Aricove weighted blanket is extremely well made and came packed beautifully in it's own carrying case and had instructions for use: start by only pulling the blanket up to your waist, relax and breathe deeply, etc., then move it up to your shoulders when you've given yourself time to adjust to the weight. I did as instructed and it felt ok, but since I toss like a fish out of water all night, I was concerned that the weight of the blanket would wake me up every time I tossed and turned and I'd end up feeling trapped and claustrophobic.Wasn't I pleasantly surprised when the first time I woke up was 6 hours later! I've not slept 6 hours straight in more years than I can remember. Shockingly, the blanket WAS cool -- not only was it cool to the touch, but my entire body felt cooler and I never woke up with night sweats like I always do. The weight was perfect and I felt like I was in a cocoon but not at all trapped or too weighted down. All my skepticism flew out the window. It still amazes me that this weight can be cooling, but it definitely is and I'm a very hot, menopausal sleeper. The only negatives about the blanket are: (1) I can't imagine ever sleeping without it now and (2) it was even harder getting out of bed this morning because all I wanted to do was luxuriate in it's snuggleness - and yes, I know that's not a word but it sure fits how I feel under this amazing blanket!PS: I've now slept with the Aricove blanket for over 2 months and love it even more now than when I first got it - if that's even possible. It's much hotter out now, but this blanket still keeps me cool at night. I still sleep through the night without getting up 2-3x like I used to. Cannot say enough great things about the Aricove blanket. Love it, love it, love it.

Great quality!
For years now my wife has always talked about needing a certain amount of weight of blankets to help her sleep. While that works fine for winter, summers are always difficult because it's a balance of weight versus heat. After reading quite a bit on weighted blankets and reading multiple dozens of reviews on various blanket offerings, I settled on the Aricove blanket for her. Her height and weight were perfectly suited for dimensions and weight recommendations of this blanket. Ten pounds sounds "light" when you see blankets that weigh up to twice that, but it really is a noticeable weight and the 48" width is nice personal size so that in our king bed, the blanket covers her only. It took some getting used to (as seems to be the norm) but she really likes it now. The quality is great. I wanted something with smaller bead pockets to keep the bead distribution even and the bamboo material is soft and feels very comfortable to the touch and it isn't hot. That was a big concern, but between the fabric and the glass beads it lives up to that claim of being pretty cool. It comes with a travel duffel bag which will be handy on trips. As soon as it came out of the box you could tell that the quality is there and, honestly, I don't see how a such a blanket can be made and imported to my door for only $40 and still be decent. I opted for quality over price. The weight is great for her to sleep and seems to keep her comfortable and from moving around. I guess it holds her down a bit which helps improve my sleep as well. Ha! So while there are "cheaper" alternatives in weighted blankets I think you have to factor in quality, performance, and life expectancy into the overall purchase. In that case, I do think that this blanket is well worth the money.
