Great brand
Heat up very fast, easy to use. Good enough for daily use

Super convenient for daily hot water
This water boiler has been really useful at home. My mom drinks hot tea all the time, so this makes it much more convenient for her instead of waiting for water to boil every time. The size is perfect and it keeps hot water ready all day, which saves a lot of time. The different temperature settings are nice and the build quality feels very solid. It heats up fast and stays warm without needing to reboil. A bit pricey but definitely worth it if you use hot water a lot.

A kitchen must-have for tea drinkers
I’ve been using this hot water dispenser for a while now, and I honestly don’t know how I managed without it. What I appreciate most is how I can choose specific temperatures at 160F, 175F, 195F, or 208F and it keeps water at the that temperature. The water is always ready when I need it, which saves a lot of time. The design is sleek and modern, and it fits perfectly on my countertop without taking up too much space. The touch controls are intuitive, and I love that it offers multiple temperatures. It is easy to refill water too. However, one small downside is that when I refill the container, I have to wait for the water to heat back up to the set temperature. It is not a long wait, but it can be inconvenient when I want hot water immediately.

Keeps water hot and not just for tea
I was stationed in England and Korea where I liked drinking hot tea. Ive had one of these for over 15 years. Not only is it great for tea but he instant hot water is awesome for cooking as well. Dry soups, ramen, mashed potatoes, even filling a pan for making mac and cheese is faster bcause it instantly starts boiling! We live in an all solar home so we watch our watts. This kettle is efficient, holds a gallon of water and as long as you use Reverse Osmosis water cleaning is a breeze. If not every six months soak in vinegar and rinse. The kettle looks nice and not too bulky. We put it on a sliding coaster so we can pull it forward if needed and the cord is plenty long for that. All in all I can't see us without one now. Great price and great quality.

Still so convenient...but they changed the design
We use this daily and rely on the convenience for instant hot water. This is our 3rd one - the first one eventually showed signs of "pitting" in the interior walls and the gasket under the lid started to crumble, so we replaced it after a few years of use. The 2nd lasted a long time (longer than the 1st) and was still in decent shape (slight signs of the gasket starting to wear down), but we gave it to a family member. So we bought this one. I believe that they improved the gasket (seems to be more of a silicone material rather than rubber). However, I'm concerned that they reduced the quality or at least the thickness of the materials. The entire unit seems much lighter, and the walls must be thinner because the heat transfers to the exterior casing. It won't burn your hands but it is definitely hot to the touch. The previous model casing stayed at room temperature. So this also means it's less efficient at insulating the heat from escaping. The color is darker than before, but that's just cosmetic and looks fine but others may prefer the previous lighter version. I concluded that they may have made some design improvements but went too far in cost cutting. Nonetheless, the convenience and overall reliability wins out.

Last Forever Best Japanese Quality Out There
High quality portable water heater. It has 4 different temperature settings. The Lid plastic O Ring washer will wear out it about 4-5 years so buy and extra lid from Zojirushi because the water heater will last over 10 years. I have had mine for 10 years and still going.

Wake up to hot water and enjoy instant hot water all day
Great for group settings or for single heavy hot water drinkers like me. I fell in love with large Zojirushi hot water thermoses when I worked in an office in Japan—imagine having piping hot water ready to make tea with, all day long! I hesitated to splurge on a Zojirushi back in the US, because traditional electric kettles are so cheap and ubiquitous. But after several highly-rated electric kettles broke in some way or another within a few months of being used multiple times a day (I like tea and even prefer to drink plain piping hot water over cold), I decided to go for the Zojirushi during a sale event. It was well worth the splurge! On work nights, I can set the time delay function to have the water hot and ready at the perfect temperature for my morning tea when I wake up, with enough water left over to fill both my and my partner’s work thermoses as well. On the weekend, I can leave the keep-warm function on to instantly warm up or brew a new cup of tea throughout the day—with its 3 liter capacity, I rarely need to refill the device or reboil from scratch. The temperature settings may feel limited but are all you need for most varieties of tea or coffee. The wide opening makes for easy filling, emptying, and cleaning, and was also the perfect size for scooping out water with a hishaku for an informal tea ceremony experience. I highly recommend using the suggested cleaning tablets, as mineral scale will gradually build up over use, and the tablets (combined with the device’s self-cleaning function) work really well at eliminating this natural buildup and keeping the device in prime working order. The one thing I think Americans might need to get used to is the need to unplug it to turn it off (and to prevent it from boiling dry when low), but in this case that means easily detaching a magnetic safety plug rather than unplugging it from the wall outlet itself, so there’s little effort needed and minimal, if any, wear and tear to the device or your wall outlet. 6 months into repeated daily use and no issues yet—if this goes on for another year, I will end up saving since I don’t have to keep replacing worn-out kettles!

Looks solid, and works pretty good

This comes with an EU plug so it's not suitable for UK sockets, annoying because it's sold on the UK Amazon site. Don't even try to use a travel adapter for kitchen appliances, it's not the correct voltage and you'll probably blow a fuse or risk a fire hazard. The actual product is probably fine, Zojirushi is a highly reputable brand and I've used their water boilers in the past and loved them.

I’ve been using the Zojirushi CD-WCC40 for a few weeks now and I’m really impressed. The energy efficiency is noticeable — it keeps water at temperature without running up your electricity bill the way older boilers tend to. For a household that goes through a lot of hot water for tea, coffee, and cooking, that matters. The size is just right. It doesn’t dominate counter space but holds enough that I’m not constantly refilling it. Build quality feels solid and the controls are intuitive — took no time at all to figure out. Shipping was fast and the unit arrived well-packaged with no damage. Was up and running the same day it arrived. If you’re on the fence about investing in a quality water boiler, this one earns it. Zojirushi’s reputation is well-deserved and the CD-WCC40 lives up to it.
