How far is the union from the 1/4 ends? Or is that length variable and be changed?

Since the 1/4-inch end caps are sealed (cannot be unscrewed), I cannot precisely determine the distance you are seeking. However, upon examining the 1/4-inch end pieces, I estimate the connections to be approximately two inches from the tip of the 1/4-inch plug.
