Perfect solution to having multiple bare hard drives that aren't in use. I utilize my older, smaller capacity drives as cold backup and this case keeps them very safe and secure. It is very well built (inside and out), and though some drives are a bit loose in the slots, once the top is closed they are completely secure. Excellent case, reasonable price, works great! Cherry on top is that it is also lockable. If you're in need of a sturdy, secure home for your hard drives, look no further.

I like it so far. Perfect for 8 pieces of hard drives and feel very secure and tight. It is not too big but perfect to store on the shelf. Somebody complained about the handle but for me, I just use the handle to move on and off the shelf, have no intention to life the handle and move it around so it is perfect for me. This box is meant to store hard drives in a long term so I would use that for that purpose. For that, it is perfect.

It's good value for the money I spent on it. The build quality is good. I bought three, so I think that says something. I will be buying one more in the future. It is a secure fit when the lid is closed. I would not pick it up by the handle when transporting it because this case can get quite heavy with a box of hard drives. I am not saying the handle will fail; I will not take the chance. The padding in the box is quite good, but I still put an antistatic bag around the drive.

The case is approx $40. For that, you really would expect it to be a tiny bit better quality (the handle and the lid foam are my major concerns). None the less, it fully satisfies my needs The handle is plastic and held on by 4 rivets. The rivets are fine, just wish the handle felt a little more solid. Just feels like a cheap plastic handle though. We're not talking "Samsonite" plastic here... it's more akin to the type that shatters but only time will tell if it holds up and proves me wrong. The case has nicely fitted metal braces on all corners to protect it. Also some plastic feet underneath so it does slide well. It's hard to tell what the case is made from but feels like plastic. I have no way of telling how thick that plastic is and just how much impact it might be able to handle. None the less, I filled the case immediately. I had some old NAS drives in original WD shipping boxes for safety and filled this case which saved TONS of room. I originally installed them in the case in their anti static plastic bags. They did fit (very tightly) but made it difficult to identify drives by size easily so I took them all out of their bags. Looks much neater. There's a small pocket at the front of the case on the right hand corner. Not sure what it's for but I stuffed it with all the small desiccant bags that were in the anti static drive bags. Handy dandy. Due to the thickness of the padding etc, the case lid does spring up when opened and needs to be pressed down to close. I like that... it means that the foam is really securing the drives as it should. Someone stated the foam in the lid isn't that thick compared to the foam used everywhere else in the case. 100% agree, but I have no concerns that the padding is more than sufficient. Drive heads lock in a closed position when power is removed so I have no concerns about head crashes etc. I think the lid foam will suffice but it would have been nicer if it had just a millimeter or 2 of the more solid foam under the sponge foam. Maybe I'm nit picking here. The box comes with a single key!!!! Come on!!! One key???? I don't intend to lock it (unless hand luggage on a plane) but I've never ever before received ANY lockable device with just a single key. This is not a case you would ship drives in asis... BUT I would not hesitate to ship 10 large capacity drives within this case and the case itself, shipped in a securely packed box. I have no doubt the drives would be just as secure as any other method of shipping but for a lot less physical size. I would also not hesitate to carry this on in hand luggage asis. I don't expect it to withstand heavy banging/dropping etc but I'd carry this just as carefully as a single drive in a manufacturers cardboard box so to that end it satisfies my needs. The case looks really nice, but for $40 I just think it's a little bit overpriced for the quality of it (the plastic...). I would recommend it though as it definitely cleans up my area of spare drives. I might well purchase a second now I've seen how much clutter this removes...

Great little case for 3.5” mechanical drives. Was surprised how small it was. Will follow up with a second one soon to be used solely for my NAS.
