This is perfect for my little dog who runs in circles due to brain damage. He tangles all of his traditional tie-outs and has yet to do it with this one! Worth the money for the dog who tangle their tie outs.UPDATE: There is a problem with the metal used in this product. After three months and one week of use, it rusted. The components inside (along with the stake) rusted that prevented it to swivel. I took this apart and found that the entire thing was rusted. I currently have it soaking in WD-40. I contacted Amazon to obtain the seller's information to report this issue. Amazon sent me a new one as a courtesy. I was really impressed with Amazon's customer service and I hope this issue gets back to the seller. Great concept, but product is faulty especially at $40. It's a five star product if they correct and use a better metal.

I hate the idea of a tie-out, but this one is good for traveling and outdoor activities that make it difficult to keep her right beside us. It's also useful when visiting someone without a fenced yard. My 23 lb dog doesn't seem to mind it, especially as we're usually nearby. It spins around without tangling her up, doesn't pull against her, and retracts whenever she gets closer to the tie out. It gives her a large area to roam too. Also, I love the spiral post that makes it easy and quick to set into the ground, and easy to get back out. Can't speak for durability yet, as it gets sporadic use when we're not home.Update: I reduced my rating to 3 stars because after a half dozen trips, the tie-out broke and the line retracted into the reel. Thankfully we found my dog, but I decided to train her to a portable radio fence instead of replacing the tie out.

At last a retractable tie out that works for small breeds! There is a very light tension from this tie out that is not so strong that it stops my dogs. I have two small breed dogs- a 14 lb. Malshi and a 7 lb. Miniature Pincher and both do very well with this tie out. I purchased a different style that was rated for small breeds but the tension on the cable was so strong the dogs were distracted by being constantly being pulled back. The cord is bright and reflective which is nice at night.

This run is great for a 9 lb. dog like mine who can't run anywhere else because she bites. It spirals into the dirt easily and can be moved easily.And 15' plus her leash gives her enough space in backyard w/o going into plantings and side gardens.

Works great for my 10 pound Shih Tsu but I would like it better if it had a straight shaft you could pound in the ground (I have a little difficulty with the twist). It is not too tight for my little dog to run around and she doesn't get tangled. Good purchase.

This is such a great idea. Works great. Carry it in my park bag and convenient for the concerts in the park to keep hands free and not worry about pup going too far.

Using it for a very small dog - 6 lbs. It's a little strong but he can pull it out without too much difficulty!

Well made but the range of the retractable leash makes it something I never, ever use...too short and the dog just gets frustrated that he cant move.
