I'll not get so redundant that I gush over each tome of Ms. McDermids. Just know that when you pick on up, your in for sharing a world created by one of the best minds writing in this genre - or any other. She ranks in the top handful of great writers working today, so let these comments stand for each and every review I've been asked to submit.Val has a wonderfully dry sense of humor, and paired with her gifts as a top tier story teller, is a joy to spend a bit of time with.

Another winner from the mind of Val McDermond. I loved the book and its twists and turns. Lyndsay remains true to herself and a stand up woman. I grew even fonder of the characters Val created. I await the next book from one of my favorite writers.

Val McDermid can write and I'm always grateful for her lesbian characters who just happen to be lesbian rather than that being a plot device. Lately though her stuff has had a lot of gratuitous violence and in the last one a rape scene written to titillate - as if there weren't enough of those written by men. So it was great to find her older series with a more straight forward mystery, well plotted and with interesting characters. Highly recommended.

Great book! I love McDermid! This book is fast paced. The characters a richly developed. I finished it in two days as it was hard to put down

Another great thriller with familiar and well loved characters . Lindsay Gordon has her own way of doing things itch spectacular results!

I always find that Val McDermid stories are packed with plot and action! When I see her name I know I will enjoy the book.

This book was just not up to McDermids standard. A real disappointment with more emphasis on sexuality than plot ..I may not read more of her work if it is as unbalanced and biased as this ..

I personally think that this is one of the better Lindsay Gordon books, I loved the way your very near to the end of the book before you find the culprit, and it's the last person you would expect and there's no clue that gives it away either.

The epilogue summed it up- no need to trundle through the whole book. Not one of Val McDermid’s better thrillers.
