As a Nerd I am intrigued by science and so love this device!
The media could not be loaded. ******** UPDATE ********I am changing my rating to 5 stars! I ordered the replacement and this one works as advertised! It now spins continuously like it is supposed to. I turn the lights off at the end of my day. See my instructions below for my technique to float the globe. Floating the globe is a challenge but half the fun! Not sure why so many are having problems... anyway... good luck and enjoy!******** ORIGINAL ********Greetings,I ordered the Magnetic Levitation Globe the first week of Dec 2021 and it arrived 3 days later. Happy with that.SETUP:The instructions are in English translated from Chinese and not a very good job with the translation. However, still good enough to understand what needs to be done to float the globe. Be warned! Floating the globe is a tricky operation requiring a bit of patience. You have to use both hands to cup the globe and hold down the base at the same time. I would then start spreading my hands apart letting the globe sink down closer to the base. At some point you feel the interaction of the magnetic forces and the globe becomes weightless. You may have to make the slightest of movements to reposition the globe left, right, forward or backward to find the "magnetic" sweet spot. At some point, the globe is floating and you slowly draw your hands away! Congratulations... you've done it.The instructions say don't try for more that 5 minutes as the base quickly overheats. I would add don't try for more than a minute. I tried once a day and then on the 4th day (after now having a good feel of finding the sweet spot) I was able to quickly float the globe in about 30 seconds.OPERATION:I have both the base and the globe itself lighted. That is my preference. I also have it plugged into a UPS so there will be no power interruptions.POSITIVES:(1) Twice the size of some levitating globes. It is 6 inches in diameter vs 3 inches with some other models.(2) The globe has an attractive internal light that makes it glow which can be turned on or off.(3) This globe will rotate continuously on its own. Some other models will slow down and stop after you give them an initial spin.SUMMARY:As a Nerd I am intrigued by the science and so love this device. However, the levitating globe is supposed to slowly rotate counter clockwise and mine does not. I am assuming that my globe has a minor defect and for that reason I will be returning it for a fully functioning globe.

Looks Good So Far But . . .
Looks purdy. Im trying to figure the LED lights out. They don't instruct you how they work but I know it is some on the sideMy only concern is the globe appears to slow down and Im worried it will stop. I have an older one in the office (10 years old) that isn't as nice but its been rotating non stop for 6 months. If this one were $20 or $30 bucks I would say I would take a chance but it cost near $100! Right now its spinning and I expect it to remain spinning for the next couple of weeks. If it stops or shows inconsistency I will return it .UPDATED FEB 7, 2019: As I feared. this gadget became problematic. 2 problems1. The globe stopped turning after day 1.2. As another buyer mentioned, for some reason the globe cant find its sweet spot and the magnet pulls it to the side or downward. Ive had a couple of these through the years so I am familiar with how they work. The 1st day was no problem in finding the sweet spot, albeit the globe stopped turning after a few hours. On day 2 it was impossible. I unplugged it for a few mins (as the instructions suggest) but after awhile on day 2, I concluded that this was NOT worth the $95, nor my time for that matter and have decided to return itUPDATE: March 7, 2019. Seller sent me another. And I figured how to activate the base lights. But much like the 1st one I had, the globe is slowing down and its been about 1 hour since I gave it the intial push. We will see what it look like when I walk in my office tomorrow. I have also made sure its not next to anything magnetic or electric. Its a nice looking piece so it would be ashame if this one also stopped spinning. If it does they really need to figure out why it stops after time.UPDATE MARCH 12, 2016. The 2nd Globe that was sent is so far working better. Its still spinning so the speed seems to be normal. I have upgraded it to 4 stars. I will update in the near future. Hopefully this will continue to spin as it is doing nowUpdate may 4. unfortunately the globe no longer stays in the center it's like the magnet is now too strong , similar to some of the other some of the reviews. good luck once it fails for the first time you'll probably never get it to stay in the center again. and the pretty blue lights in let me come on either. too bad it was a nice gadget when it was working

This thing is amazing!
Bought this for a gift for my adult son and might have to get one for myself. The globe is a decent size and yes it spins by itself. I really like that the globe lights up as well as the base because it helps you learn how to balance it. The first few times you set it up can be a bit frustrating, go to YouTube and find a video to help, the written instructions are a bit vague. Once you get the feel of it, it is quite easy. Yes there are less expensive ones, but this one lets you shut off all the lights or light only the base or globe and was eligible for amazon prime. And lets be real folks, now that it is legal it is even more amazing...

Works great
It is as advertised and is very cool. The only small thing is the equator line can appear a bit light when the inside light is on. Not a big thing or I would have given a 5 star. You have to learn to place it in the right space to hover. If you expect it to "lock" into place it doesn't, it just doesn't feel like the base magnets are pulling it. That is the sweet spot to let it hover. One you get it then it makes hovering it easier the next time. It's very cool.

Awesome Christmas gift. Best designed floating globe on Amazon.
Bought this for myself and will be buying another as a Christmas gift. If you've seen these floating globes on Amazon, there are a lot that are C-shaped, and the globe floats inside the C-shaped holder. Those ones are smaller and you don't see the effect as much. The floating on this one really stands out on this one and it automatically spins unlike the other ones. Plus, the LEDs make it look much cooler.

Very nice glowing globe in dark, but does not rotate byself.
Very nice gadget to add on for your home and office. Looks so decent in dark too, has wirelessly operated led globe when you just spot on dock. It should revolve byself but mine was not which the only thing i dont like. Otherwise its very nice to have it one at home to decorate.

Pefect and illuminated but hard to find the floating point..
its perfect exept the fact that its hard to find the floating point but the ball/glob lights amazingly with no contact with the base.
