This generates a huge amount of force. I bought some 120 amp & 175 amp Andereson connectors and upon arrival, I realized that my little crimpers for 10 gauge wire were hopelessly outclassed by the massive tubes I needed to crimp that were as big around as battery terminal wires. I ordered this next day, and when it arrived I was ready. I swapped out the dies with the approprate size and went at it. It worked great. My only complaint is that all of the dies are of the same shape. The "M" shape I think makes a better crimp on a tubular connector, and all of the dies are more hexagonal. Still, they are very easy to swap out. I wish I could find some other dies that would fit this.

Installed solar system in my motorhome and at first tried using one of those hammer crimper they work good on my 2 gusge and up but the crimps looked horrible and unprofessional plus it wouldn't crimp 4/0 wire i needed for my inverter. So I ordered this it is a little awkward to hold wire in connector while pumping to crimp but after a couple times you get used to it. All crimps have been tight and look really good. The cutter that comes with it is really sharp it makes cuts alot easier. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who ned to crimp larger battery wires for vehicles or solar systems.

This crimper works flawlessly and puts a beautiful, proper crimp on your lugs. Operation is simple and smooth. The dies slip in and out easily and stay put when installed. This is the only way to go. If I have future issues with it I will amend this review but for now, I couldn't be happier. EDIT: Upadate Aug.1,2023 I dinged it two stars for the following two reasons. When crimping high quality 2/0 wire into copper lugs, the 2/0 die closed completely before a complete crimp. I was able to pull the wire out of the lug. I am 100% certain the wire and lugs were both 2/0. The size was far enough off that I was able to neatly re-insert the wire back into the lug and used the 4/0 instead. It made a perfect crimp. I dinged it another star because the cutting edges hit each other hard...you had to try and manipulate the handles to get it to not bang into each other. Of course the badly dented the cutting edges. All of this being said, I am satisfied with the job the crimpers do. The only other crimps I have made were #10 and it performed well with the proper die.

Broke on VERY FIRST use. Tried crimping a 1/0 connector, had quite a gap between dies and it just snapped. Pretty disappointing.

Used this to crimp lugs on 1/0awg. Was originally going to use a hammer crimper but was advised against it so I got this instead. Worked flawlessly and was even cheaper than a similar tool I saw at HF, and this comes with a good cutter to boot. Crimping power is awesome. Crimped the lugs way better than a hammer crimper. The handles are comfortable to use. It's a high quality tool.
