A Tale of Witchcraft... (A Tale of Magic..., 2)

A timely classic (and way to orient kids to todays politics without every discussing them)
I've been reading these books, all of them (we are now on the last, as of today, in the series, Tale of Sorcery), to my 5th and 8th grade children. (I know--the books are so interesting, they still, at this age, like to hear the stories read to them. Well, that's not totally true. The 8th grader has been reading to himself since we finished the original 5-book series together a year ago.) We love them. Great messages. So interesting. Great plots and turns along the way. As a side note, I'm a child developmental psychologist. I think these are wonderful books for kids. Recommend them highly--to kids of all ages. The last one, a tale of witchcraft, about the Righteous Brotherhood, is almost too, eerily linked to political events of the day, that its wild to read a story with no reference to today's politics, but that communicates the same issues, concerns, and potential resolutions.

Amazing read
I have to admit this series of books are addictive. I sure hope they become either a show or movies. I'm 49 and I am extremely impressed by how the author keeps you curious and intrigued. Great young adult books and even older adults who love fantasy will love these.

Best book Ever!
This was the best book in my opinion, because it has the most descriptive writing I've ever read, and is 👍 good for all ages.My favourite books are from Chris Colfer and I've never read anything better! This book is original and highly developed.I would recommend this book to big fantasy readers, and I would say this book is suitable for all ages.

A dark but lovely tale
Bristol is now known as the Fairy Godmother. The weight of helping the kingdoms and leading magic users is difficult, but when Bristol starts to hear a negative voice in her head, things get worse. This is the second book in the Tale of Magic series and like the first it is darker in tone than the Land of Stories series. This is a middle grade fantasy. It is well written and engaging.I listened to the audiobook read by the author. He does an excellent job.Mistress Mara, the witch is fairly scary. Lucy is still pretty annoying. Bristol is pretty responsible and able to lead pretty happily until she is hit by negative self-talk and kind of a depression. There is a secret society, the 333, that makes itself known trying to keep magic from being further accepted. It feels like it addresses issues faced by many a society throughout history where what is different is feared, and there are those that will try to enforce their narrow view on others. There are some inspiring words spoken toward the end about life having a purpose that are very inspiring.I felt better for having read this book. Thanks Chris Colfer for a lovely story.

Chris Colfer's Books Can Turn ANYONE Into a Reader
All of Chris Colfer's books have been a glorious read. They've also been our standard recommendation to families whose kids (or adults) don't like to read. It sucks them in and turns them into readers. We like that he doesn't tell you about the adventures, you go along with the characters on them. Though told in the world of imagination and fantasy, the humanity and relatability makes you feel like you're safe with old friends sharing experiences you'll take with you into your old age.

Book 2 is as good as the first
I was unable to put the book down easily. It was so intetesting and exciting. The witchcraft wasn't an unacceptable level. It was just enough and not too much.Brystal really is a heroine of hope even tho she goes thru alot of stuff to figure it out.I can only say I'm sure book 3 will be just as awesome.Great work Chris!
