PTCB Hero: The Essential Information You Need to Pass the First Time (and Nothing Else!)

I was about to take the PTCB exam in a few weeks and thought I would've to reread all my textbooks and notes. I read the reviews here and decided to purchase the PTCB HERO and what an investment!! It has all the relevant information needed for prepping for the exam, and passed on my first try!! I am extremely happy with the results.

I don't take the exam until Oct. 15th, but I wanted to review this product now as it is extremely helpful. I have bad test anxiety and reading this just simply feels like your reading a book, but your actually studying! Totally different change of mind, I feel like I'm retaining more info, and the info seems very helpful and matches with other research I've done on what to expect on the test. Will update review once I take the exam, but I have high hopes! Very happy I got this. Wish me luck!

I used this alongside the PTCE Pocket Prep app to help me pass the exam. This book is good for annotating and understanding just the bare basics of what you need to know GENERALLY. The rest of my knowledge relied on what I studied with the Pocket Prep. Studied both for about a month and passed with flying colors. Overall, I do recommend this book, but there are certainly free alternatives you can use to study. I just like this one because it condenses a lot of important info into a few pages. I swear on everything when I tell you that sometimes the price may seem too good to be true but JUST BUY IT! This is a straight forward to the point book that I swear helped the most. This book is cut and dry and for the price why not?! I read this the day before my test focusing on the topics I was struggling in and I swear this book helped me understand the concepts so much better. There is no fluff to this you’re not paying to get a bunch of info that you have to sift though to find what you need. This book has what you need in it! It has great detail and simplifies the different domains with in the exam in a way that is easy to retain. I passed my test, and I truly am thankful I got this book to help me better understand what I was struggling with. Get it, you won’t regret it! Good Luck!

I'll give this a five star for minimalism and encapsulating the big parts. However, please note that this book is dated 2020 and the guidelines change January 6th of 2026. This book will help you get the hang of the major stuff though that still remains on the updated guidelines.

I don’t think I woulda past my test without it way more affordable than the other book they try to sell you !!
