Very Good camera. Wish it had flip-out screen & mic input...
This camera is all you can ask for and more, BUT the zoom lens... you see the forward-most ring? It does nothing. It spins. It does not control the focus or anything useful like that. It just spins. The large back ring, however, works as expected. You turn the ring and it zooms in and out like it's supposed to.I know the above can be fixed with simply buying a better lens, but really, no on-lens manual focus? The controls on this camera are very intuitive, but not dumb-ed down like you would expect on a camera with this few buttons and this low of a price tag.Things that can be added by software that would be nice to have:-Live view from HDMI or PC-Ability to start video with YI M1 app-Drag-and-drop LUTs to camera (Lookup Tables)-Ability to use as a webcam on a PCThings that can be fixed by software:-Better autofocus (Even after update 3.1)-Better colors-More color modesProblems with the hardware itself:-No mic input, like... seriously? Yi Made a camera ALMOST perfect for amateur video with NO MIC INPUT?!-No flip-out screen... seriously? Yi Made a camera ALMOST perfect for amateur video with NO FLIP-OUT SCREEN?!-It has no flash. That's fine for me though. I hate using front-facing flash as it makes your subject look either unintentionally bright or oily-looking-It would be nice, since it uses micro-usb, for it to have some kind of quick-charge function-Have the light change to green when the camera has finished chargingThis is probably the best affordable swappable-lens camera that money can buy (at least at the time of typing this).Would I rather have a more expensive camera with all of these feature that I want? Yes.Am I going to get a more expensive camera with all of these feature that I want? Probably not in the near future. As for now, this will definitely make do.Oh yeah, and it takes pretty good images too.

Nicely impressed.
I bought this camera thinking that I would be returning it the very next day, but the more pictures I take with it, the more I appreciate that it was an unsurpassed bargain. Not being new to the taking of pictures, I have realized that the color, definition, sharpness, and resolution of its pictures correspond to a lot more expensive cameras, which makes it a keeper. This camera possesses the right hardware, and all the minuses I have found on it could potentially be solved with firmware updates or by creating a more comprehensive user's manual; however, just dedicating enough time to learn how the camera operates can translate into rewarding pictures. Although its automatic setting is pretty good, I have already learned how to operate it manually, including the focusing mechanism. I am very happy with it being a lightweight 4/3 camera because its impressive and professional light captures.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this camera!!!!
This camera is AMAZING. I get that if you're a professional photographer, it's not ideal. I am a novice who was looking for a good camera to learn on. I travel a lot, so I definitely wanted a mirrorless for the compact size and weight. I've had it for a week, and it's hard to get a bad shot. I haven't used the wider angle lens for landscape pics yet, but the portrait lens is creating such awesome photos that I'm having a blast playing around with it. If you're looking to step up from the camera on your phone, this is the camera for you. And with both lenses, it's the best deal I could find. I spent hours searching online - I even looked at used mirrorless cameras from the more expensive brands. I eventually decided to give this camera a try, and I couldn't be happier with the decision!

I give this camera 5 stars. I’m not a photographer by any means yet. But this camera takes really great pictures by my standards. I’m most excited about being able to Bluetooth link it to my smart phone, download, and edit pictures so that I can upload amazing pictures to my social media quickly. So far it’s very easy to operate. Light weight. Small so fits in my hand comfortably. May submit another review after I have really learned to work it but so far very pleased.

Liked the product but had to return because of issue
The other reviews are pretty spot on. From how the device operates, new viewfinder only a large screen. For my purpose, which was videos the camera worked great with the exception of one thing. The camera was not recording sound. As you can imagine... this was a serious issue. Here’s the big complaint, customer service had a language barrier clearly. And there was a delay in assisting me so i returned the item. You only have so long to return something so i would rather be safe then sorry. A few days later customer service reached out and asked me to reset the settings to the default factory settings. It was to late camera was returned. If the audio worked i would of definitely kept this item. Its great for video and there really isn’t anything in the market for 4k video at this price. The lens are garbage tho. Get the 299. One and get an adapter to canon mount. Get a real lens.

Still not giving good picture. Waiting for another upgrade because I can't ...
Focusing issue. It's hard to focus. Picture not sharp even in 4k. I have firmware 3.1 and 1.1 lens. Still not giving good picture. Waiting for another upgrade because I can't return it anymore. I'm selling it. Not a keeper.

If this was fixed I would recommend
Camera constantly freezes when I try to view photos. Videos are limited to 7 seconds. No internal flash. Picture quality is good.

Not happy with the quality of the camera
Not happy with the quality of the camera, or the pictures it takes. I’ve had the camera for 3 months hoping it was a learning curve andeould learn more on how the camera works to have better quality photos. Wish I wouldn’t have waited so long, now I can’t return it.

Leider (fast) keine scharfen Bilder
