This receiver tube is as heavy duty as a tow rated weld on tube. Of course with clamping it to an RV bumper wouldn't at all be safe to tow with but so far as supporting a bike rack or tool box it would actually seem a bit overkill. In any case, for the money it's absolutely going to serve your needs and not brake the bank, unlike the neighborhood welding shop.

Installed this Nilight Class 3 hitch myself in the driveway. The steel is solid, welds look clean, and it lined up nicely with the frame on my Ram. All the hardware was in the box and the finish seems like it’ll hold up well against rust. The install wasn’t hard, but the fish wire they include could be stronger — mine bent after a few tries, so I improvised with a coat hanger to pull the bolts through. Once everything was torqued down, it fit tight and looks factory. I’ve used it a few times now to haul a small trailer and a hitch cargo rack, and it’s been rock solid. For the price, it’s tough to beat. Just plan an extra 30–45 minutes if you’re doing it solo.
