It kind of works. Blade is a bit loose if you open it up to make bigger slices but if you have it down where its tight, slices are tiny shaves and you wouldnt even know its truffles. The slices just end up not being consistent. I also think the email harvesting to get the recipe book is BS. They just want to make more money off you by selling your email address too. I wouldn't buy this again, not sure why it has 4.5 stars with 400+ reviews.*update* left the old review in in case it happens to others. The thing fell apart while washing it. I realized the 3 philips screws were all loose which made the blade move around making inconsistent slices and enough wiggle room for the whole blade to fall out. Once I tightened those up, the slicer does really thin good slices. Not sure why those weren't tightened when I got it, but it makes a world of difference.

A truffle slicer should have a straight, not a scalloped edge. I assumed the scalloped edge was just an option when I bought this....nope....it shreds your very expensive truffle into julienned slices rather than slivers. Now, I can't return it because I did not get around to using it right away. AND...no instruction manual, and the site they give does NOT take you to a manual...it takes you to a media marketing site. Really disappointing. I can see what it is discontinued. Shame on y'all.

Got a set of these just a while back. One for a gift and the other for myself. I have been cooking at home for a few years now and taken an interest in finding and using new tools. This one works very well. I got my hands on some Australian winter truffles and this little guy did it’s thing. I will have to say that you must be careful when using such an instrument, it’s very sharp and could knick you if you aren’t paying attention. I will have to say it a good addition to my ever growing collection of kitchen tools. I do wish the blade was a bit more stable. Mine had a little give to it but when you figure yours out it works fine, just as intended.

I have tried few truffle and chocolate shavers but none has been as good as this one. The opening is large and for chocolate it is excellent. I bought it especially for chocolate and my word it works. It is of a very good qualityand extremely sharp. I have not tried it for cheese but I am sure it will make nice slices of cheese. Again this one is the BEST.

Its very easy to clean and maintaine, easily replaceable blade then the time comes and a pretty truffle symbol on the front very niceOh and slices great used it for a banquet and sliced so smoothly

Ah, the first thing I used this Truffle Slicer for was garlic. I was making an olive oil marinade with all the herbs from my garden, Rosemary, Thyme, Basel, Parsley, a little Sage with onion , sliced garlic and Truffle oil. I used the marinade for all sorts of meats and shrimp, for chicken and add wine vinegar for a salad dressing. The only trouble I have had is that you should protect your fingers with gloves. The blade is very sharp, but the thinly sliced garlic is great !

This is a top quality - easy to use - easy to adjust - easy to clean - truffle slicer. It is the best i’ve found for making paper thin slices with ease....and quite simply, there is nothing more heavenly than fresh truffle on buttered pasta.It came with a lovely storage pouch so no damage can occur - of it or to other things - if one has a tumbly kitchen drawer of various cooking amd prepping toys!And the company is so kind, and lovely, and attentive. They email a manual and make sure of satisfaction, and then also email some recipes.It is a top quality item and a top quality company.

So far I've used it to slice one black summer truffle and it worked great. I'm giving it four stars because it's the only truffle shaver I've ever used and I have nothing to compare it to. Also I know reviews with 5 stars or 1 star are often not used by people looking for an honest review. So, four it is.

We could not download the recipe book is there any other suggestions in trying to do that it’s on PDF but for some reason it is not working I would like the recipe book can you accommodate

The shaver itself works great but the link for the recipe book/e-guide did not work so would love to know how to get that.

It came beautifully packed , very sturdy , can’t wait to have garlic thinly sliced or chocolate shavingsBeyond pleased with this.
