Bird repeller
Easy to assemble . Flys well doing its job at keeping the birds away . Tears easy in high winds , but I have repaired the tear & it still works .

Effective to some extent as a bird deterent
Used to protect garden apple trees from blackbirds and jackdaws. I estimate that it was 90% effective in keeping jackdaws from the apple crop, about 50 -60% effective against blackbirds. The best deterent I have found to reduce fruit loss due to birds as it is not practical to net the trees. I bought one last year and a second one this year. Well designed and made; however, an improvement would be if the kite was attached to the end of the rod through a swivle (when tied on direct the chord eventually broke, also the chord sometimes wraps around the pole).

Looks good but a watse of time and money for its intended prupose.
Looks good flying in the garden 'when the breeze is blowing', but fails in its claimed action of bird scaring. Garden birds were quite happy to keep it company. Easy to erect, but you have to get the angle of the pole correct, and the string the right length to achieve maximum flight. Entertaining to watch it fly around, such a shame that it fails to scare the birds though.

Hmmmm.... not convinced.
When it's working in the wind it's a moving fluttering deterrent, and I've not seen any of the expected pigeons near my newly seeded lawn area. BUT: 1) It's the usual sort of telescopic rod arrangement that you pull out and twist to lock in place. However, for the life of me I cannot get the top section to stay up for more than a day. It collapses down after a time, which unfortunately means that I either have to have the line to the kite quite short or the bird catches the ground if the line length is set to full pole length. 2) As per other reviews of many of these things despite the rotating attachment at the top of the pole, the string does get wound round the pole until the kite will no longer fly. As a result of the two above issues I basically have to go and reset the scarer each morning. On the plus side, however as stated I have not had any pigeons, but I do also have lots of the reflective tape deployed and the small rotating windmills

Does exactly what it says on the tin
We were sceptical about this, but I can’t recommend it enough. Reading the reviews from other people gave us doubt, but I can honestly say IT WORKS!! I’ve not seen any bird anywhere near the whole garden. We had issues with the Pidgins eating the cherries from our tree, but they aren’t coming anywhere near it with this fake bird. The quality is fine - I’ve seen some of the comments - it does the job, and it does the job VERY well.

Pole not fit for purpose
I unwrapped this item and put it together as per the video instructions. As I pushed the holding pole into my lawn, it broke. It is ridiculously fragile. So now I have to use it with my outdoor parasol stand which is a pain as it's very heavy to move, and I have to move it daily otherwise it will kill the grass underneath. Cheap and poor quality holding pole ruins an otherwise ok product.

Finally, a blackbird scarer that really works.
This blackbird scarer really works -- first device I have had that works more than a couple of days. I have had one installed for one month now, and the black birds have not come back. Key to using this scarer is to mount the pole at about 45 degrees, not vertical. If you mount the pole vertically, the bird wraps itself around the pole over time.

Fun but not 100% effective against pigeons
Quite effective when the wind blows. The pole had to be strapped together as it fell apart after a while.
