Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine dual_band

I recently switched ISPs, and the new one thankfully does not have a router bundled with the modem. I have been a big fan of Ubiquiti, and the Dream Machine is great. It integrated with my existing UniFi APs, and I was up and running in minutes.

I read lots of reviews and decided to buy one. It is very easy to use and get configured. I found the mobile app easy to check on the device and the setup painless. It is a bit on the pricy side for your low end users but it comes loaded with a lot of security and advanced features. Based on the features and price it is well worth the price for what you are getting. From the average user to more adnvance networking techs it will meet your needs.

It's fantastic. Prices are still running high. Not exactly for beginners but you need much less skill than with previous UniFi products.

Do not buy do not buy this! I have been using Ubiquity systems for a very long time at work, so I bought this to replace my old home router thinking that it should be just as robust as their other products. It worked great for about 6 months using only the Wi-Fi. Then I noticed that my signal was going to crap, so I bought an access point to extend the range. When I went to plug it into the router I found that the ports are damaged. I wish I had thoroughly and meticulously inspected the device when it came in. Only one ethernet port works on the back and the Wi-Fi range is crappy as hell only 10 meters and it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting. Do not buy do not buy this!

I wish the rating system was different. Short version: 4-5 stars for product, 5 stars for the seller, OneDealOutlet Online, and 1 for Ubiquity customer service. Product overall is very good, as expected. Easy setup of various VLANs, which is a major reason I wanted this, went without a hitch. Wi-Fi signal strength is very good and the UI is excellent. Prices are still absurdly high compared to what they were and the months-long wait was annoying. Despite this, I'm pretty pleased with the unit itself. OneDealOutlet Online was great. Ordered this thing late Thursday night and it was at the door by Friday afternoon. My only beef is with Ubiquity customer service. Reached out to them after realizing our unit shipped with the wrong (European/Asian) power cord. Not a big deal, but it would be nice to have a proper cable, so I tried calling to ask about getting one. Good luck with that, for anyone thinking of trying. After this, I sent an email and, a few days later, got a reply saying they do not have them available. Really, Ubiquiti - after spending north of $400, you can't send a proper cable?

Best product i ever bought! Especially great for a network tech graduate to play around with! Super easy to install and configure, soo many great details and options that you can use! Please throw away your current modem router that isp provides and replace with this!

Leider war der mitgelieferte Stecker am Stromkabel nicht für die deutsche Steckdose geeignet. Ich würde mich freuen, wenn Amazon mir noch ein Kabel mit geeignetem Stecker zusenden könnte. Hab es jetzt mit einem ausgeliehenen installiert und es funktioniert auch einwandfrei.

I’ve used Apple Airport Extremes, Netgear Orbi, and a bunch of other routers in the past and this greatly exceeds all of those systems. Not only has it been extremely reliable but the quality and design of both the hardware and software is the best you will find. The UI is extremely easy to use, whether its the web interface (Chrome only, currently no support for Safari) or the iOS app (which has about 99% of the features). The amount of information that you have access to is vast and beautifully presented. It reminds me of the first time I switched from Windows to Mac. Setting up the router wasn’t seamless as it got stuck on connecting to the internet to create/verify my Unifi account. I had to hotspot my iPad to bypass the router’s internet connection for this step, but that seemed to fixed it. It looks like others on the internet have experienced the same issue so I hope Ubiquiti address it soon. Beyond that hiccup, it’s been flawless. The hardware also feels like a premium product, something you’d expect from a company like Apple, which is refreshing compared to the cheap plastic feel of Netgear and other consumer networking hardware. I know you don’t touch your networking gear often but it definitely builds a sense of trust that the internals are made with premium parts and that a lot of careful thought went into designing it too. It comes through in how easy it is to use too. I have the Dream Machine running 2 Unifi Flex HD access points and they were a breeze to setup. I look forward to making the most out of the broad Unifi ecosystem once wifi 6 becomes more common. If you’re still unsure if this is worth the cost, YouTube “Network Chuck UDM” for a thorough overview of the hardware and software. I received a white power cord with my unit, looks like others have received black ones in the past. If you were looking for the spiritual successor to Apple’s AirPort Extreme, this is it — with an added extensive ecosystem.

there is literally nothing else. This is all you will ever need. Setup multiple Wifi networks each with different firewall settings. Isolate all smarthome devices so they can only call home but not see anything on your network. Prevent internet access for Homekit devices so your lightswitch can only talk to your apple TV but not the internet. Add guest Wifi so you dont hand out your access to guests and guests can only use the internet but not see your network. Everything working flawlessly since a year without touching it. No performance issues. Also supports VPN, VLAN, traffic analysis, and much more. The only thing I wish it had was per Wifi VPN instead of global VPN.

This incredible router and wifi and so simple to install and have a great performance. Everything was setup using my phone and have not trouble at all. Performance on this router is amazing wifi signal is very strong. The router was installed in the living room downstairs and the signal is excellent even upstairs. High recommended!!!
