Very Pleased with Atoto Family Products. Originally I did not think I could handle a complete install in my 2002 Toyota Tundra 4x4, which was still in really great shape and only 100,000 miles and doing it myself, but I went for it. I first tried the other dash mount types but they were too big and too bulky and I wanted some real sound. So with a conservative budget, I elected to go for it! I did the research and best reviews for components that would all work together for what I wanted and It came out great! I Started with this Atoto S8 which has just the features I wanted especially the sound quality, built in equalizer which with the amp, they offer I recommend, also I added 2 JBL629 6.5" grand touring 360watts Bass Speakers w Tweeters for the Rears and two Rockford Fosgate Prime R165-S 6.5" System w/ separate Tweeters system up front for high end sounds amazing! Also you know you can't show lyrics on infotainment units but with with my iPhone mounted on the glass on my left side steering wheel I have my lyrics displaying while I sing along and my map on the right. Best of both worlds. Perfect! But the best way to get started was to make contact with Atoto Service Department and if you're especially lucky a girl named Estella, but everyone there is very helpful. I was just very fortunate to get her and made a great connection from the very start. Even though we only connected by email and by maybe at times even a day or two apart which was fine what ever by my convenience. I didn't mind as this was my project and I was talking to China, Days/Hours apart. When you get the box, you'll get more wire/connectors than you''ll need, but you will need to check Atoto, Youtube, for additional wiring harnesses from 3rd party vendors for your make and model such as Walmart, Amazon, and Crutchfield etc. to connect all the colored wires together. I ended up getting the 9" model a little larger but still not blocking the vents. I already have cameras on my rearview mirror, front and back, so I may later connect this or not to be determined. It does have a neat perspective angle. Believe me take your time, don't get overwhelmed, Estella will take you through it step by step and you tell her for me that George says Hello to his Little China Girl...............................Thanks. Installed in 2008 hummer H3. It powered all 6 door speakers including the factory sub with no issues. Sounds great. Love the wireless Android Auto.

Let me start with I have a 2003 Chevy Silverado 2500HD. I have a feeling this was not supposed to work here. I struggled and had to modify and test fit the bracket for around 3 hours. I'm sure in some cars it will be fine but had this been the normal in dash and not external screen I could have had this done in around 30 minutes. The end product after a lot of tinkering is good enough and it's a good product for the money. This is my 3rd ATOTO radio that I purchased but my first one that is external. The sound quality is great on these and with Android you can download and install Netflix and YouTube etc and watch those.

I bought the Atoto S8 MS9 to replace the stock radio in my newly acquired 2006 Dodge Ram 2500 diesel quad cab. The truck had the upgraded Infinity factory amp and speakers. The dash had good room for a bigger screen so I chose this radio as the Goldilocks touch screen. I also purchased the installation kit that included a bezel and wiring harness, plus the tools to pop the dash front. After 16 years of very light use (the truck only has 55k on it and is pristine), the dash front piece was extremely difficult to remove. I did a little damage but nothing too visible. Getting the radio out was easy - 4 screws and out she came. Then the fun began. I didn’t realize this unit had an amp, so the standard harness didn’t work. Eventually I broke down and bought the PAC RP4-CH11 interface. I was perplexed that the vehicle harness had fewer speaker wires than the radio side but found an explanation that explained it’s because of the amp. So I rewired the harness to the radio and hooked everything up. A few errors later I had power to the radio but now sound. I spent hours trying to figure out why. For the ATOTO, set the little dial on the interface to “7”. I’m colorblind so my wife had to double check colors. Everything appeared good but still no sound. More research. The next day I pulled out my multimeter to see if the amp power wire had current. It did. No sound. I touched the probe to the power antenna wire, which was unused, to see how it compared. Voila, the speakers erupted in glorious noise. I have no idea why. Anyway, I checked my connections, spent an hour or two carefully routing the rear video wire through the firewall and through the dash, plus the cell and GPS antennas over the windshield and down the side molding and across the dash, and then the external microphone wire and the two usb-in cables, put all the moldings back on, zip-tied things and carefully tucked it all back in the dash. Then I realized the radio double-din mount was too low. An hour later and some creative carving and I got it all to line up. I checked operation again and it was good, then pushed everything in place and screwed the radio face to the dash mount. It looks like a million bucks. The sound is really good - far better than the stock radio. The steering wheel controls also work and I really like that they are programmable. It works wirelessly with Appleplay and is very easy to use. I don’t know Droid very well so I’ll have to brush up on that. Radio reception is outstanding. I haven’t got a 4-G chip so can’t run the internet or WiFi options yet but soon I will. Until then the Apple navigation works very well. I should say that I reached out to ATOTO via Amazon regarding the “no sound” problem. They have a detailed response of what to look for but it wasn’t my problem. It did make me realize a can bus would be the best solution so I spent the bucks on the RP4-CH11, and am glad I did. I’m generally pretty handy with these things but it took a good 15 hours for me to work through this install, from the tailgate handle video camera (I want to see the trailer hitch) to keeping the steering wheel controls. It was a pain but the install looks good, the wires nicely routed, and everything works really well. I hope it holds up. I’ll be keeping my warranty on this one.

We walk around with smart phones in our pockets that are so much better than the big boxes of electronics in our car dashboards. Why do car stereos seem to lag decades behind our everyday activities? The ATOTO S8 basically takes a normal Android tablet, and bolts on some circuitry for amplification plus a whole bunch of connectors (speakers, sub-woofer, antennas for GPS/cellular/wifi/radio, multiple USB charger ports, external mic, dash cam, reverse cam, etc.). It provides a normal touchscreen UI like any tablet, and even lets you install other normal apps from the app store. I put it in my RV / Sprinter Van and it is much better than the original crappy "infotainment" system that I've never looked back. It gives me a bigger 10+ inch screen, all the music, audiobook, overlander and mapping apps I want, and makes it so that I hardly need to connect my phone for anything other than answering phone calls on speakerphone. My main complaint was how reflective the screen was, but that was easily solved by sticking an anti-glare screen protector on it (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07W7V7598). I got most of the accessories (Bluetooth ODB2 sensor for displaying engine data and maintenance messages, tire pressure sensors, dash cam, reverse cam, etc.) and for the most part everything seems to work together well (although I still haven't gotten the TPMS system working fully for my dualie rear tires). Overall, it's hard for me to imagine going back to old car stereos -- it even lets use the steering wheel buttons for volume, pause/play, skip, etc.

I'm the owner of an ATOTO 7" unit that I've had for for old RAV4 for about 3-4 years - happy with the unit. But I thought it was time for an upgrade. Got this unit and here's why I returned it * The unit doesn't look OEM install because it's much larger - more like a tablet tacked on. * The display has large bezels and the actual diagonal display is 8.5" not 9" - that's not that much of an upgrade from 7" that I was expecting. This along with above - did it in. * The install wasn't as easy as the 7" because the base was about 1mm too wide for my RAV4's trim. * Preferred the tactile buttons on the previous unit. Also had usb port and micro sd card slots right on the front. The overall quality is lower on this unit - that's a dissapointment. * This is Android 10 - quite old. * Don't expect any os, firmware or app updates - never got it for my 7" unit. * The install is cumbersome because you also need a specific harness for your car and have to do quite a few connections. I knew that beforehand, but for those that don't - that's additional time and expense. ATOTO was unique and a step obove the rest of the Chinese units. But this has regressed in quality - it's just another Android tablet tacked on the front of the dash. The only plus is that email support is good - but you're paying about a $100 premium for ATOTO units. I don't know about other cars, but for RAV4 - there's much better integrated units for much cheaper - albeit with no support.

This is by far the best head unit I encountered in a long time, especially I don’t need to connect my phone since I can just connect my extra Sim card and I have Internet all the time. It’s literally a tablet with android operating system. You can use Waze all the time without draining your phone battery. You can browse any video you like with external flash drive by this unit you will not regret it. Pro tip: buy RETROFIT CONNECTING CABLE SPECIFIC FOR YOU CAR SO YOU DONT NEED TO SPEND EXTRA $250 for a technician to do it, its pretty easy DIY.
