Starting Out with C++ from Control Structures to Objects (8th Edition)

I couldn't afford to purchase this book at the time so I decided to rent it online instead. The book arrived timely and there were clear instructions on how to return the book at different shipping locations which I chose The UPS store to ship the book back after the semester was over. The price to rent the book was reasonable and unbeatable (cheap). When this book arrived it wasn't in excellent condition due to it was a USED rental which is understanding. This book is very helpful if you are a newbie at C++ language because it breaks everything down into a simple understanding. I would definitely look into purchasing this book in the future to keep on my bookshelf as Info Tech reference. Overall, this book is the best on understanding C++ language. I look forward to more computer programming languages by the writers of this textbook.

It's Great

rented this for my daughter's introduction to computer programming course in high school. I am a s/w engineer and used to program in C++. This book has a very good explanation of basic concepts. You just need to make sure you read every page!

Purchased this used, product was in decent condition, never ended up using it, but everything was there.

So far I have found this book to be an excellent guide to learning C++. Even if you never programmed before, the book moves at a nice pace and explains everything in a very understandable way. Unfortunately it doesn't tell you how to setup your OS to make C++ programs but that can be easily google searched.

I love this language and love this book. I started out with this language so I could be bias but this book is detailed and easy for new learners.

This product was listed as good. But I was really along the lines of acceptable, the cover is severely distorted and the whole book is covered in stickers while many of the pages are bent and fealt extremely worn down. Overall i was not satisfied with this item.

This book is extremely helpful when you are learning C++. I wish I could keep it longer. The only irritation is sometimes the layout of the C++ examples is a little confusing but that is because the examples are longer than a single page. If you can, I suggest the online edition, that can make things a little easier. Overall, I really enjoyed this book.
