Maui Jim Hookipa + 1.50 Readers Polarized Sunglasses H807-1015 : desertcart.in: Fashion Review: These are my fifth pair of Maui Jim sunglasses, and I continue to consider Maui Jims the best all-around sunglasses available. In response to a few criticisms about the size of the magnification area, I point out that the Ho'oikipa frames are designed for outdoor wear and outdoor sports. I plan to wear them to sit by the pool and read too, but that is not what they are designed for. I have used the Ho'oikipa bronze HCL regular glasses for bicycling, and found them to be very good for that purpose. In the Reader version, they would help with reading my Garmin 810 GPS computer, or any other electronic screen displaying a map or small text. Living near the beach, there is plenty of bright sunshine. I have worn Maui Jim Bronze HCL sunglasses around town, at the beach, and on a boat. In the car, the magnification on the Readers was perfect for reading the small text on the steering wheel buttons, while not distorting my view of the instrument panel or the road ahead. If you are looking for sunglasses to wear by the pool while you read, be aware that the magnified portion is smaller than you might like. But for those of us who want an excellent pair of sunglasses for an active lifestyle, plus the ability to read small print without switching glasses, the Maui Jim Readers are close to perfect. Review: This brand is usually my favorite, but the top of the stick-on bifocals glare in sunlight.

This brand is usually my favorite, but the top of the stick-on bifocals glare in sunlight.

These are very lightweight, but have great optical clarity. The bifocals appear to have been designed with fishermen in mind, but they are functionally useful and I am able to focus clearly on nearby objects/text with them, given sufficient light. I imagine they would be easily broken, if I really made an effort to do so, but there is no apparent reason they should not last for a reasonable length of time, if treated as glasses should be normally be cared for. The lenses could probably be well scratched if "cleaned" incorrectly. This is my third pair of Maui Jim sunglasses (all currently in use) and this will likely be the only brand I purchase in the future, unless something changes.

MJ are the best sunglasses on the market. Add in readers and there is no other option. You can purchase cheap sunglasses but you will never be satisfied. This is my 3rd pair over the last 20 years and I still have my originals.

These sunglasses make everything clear. The reading lenses are small but it works. Very comfortable to wear.
