This is my second Smonet security camera system and it's nice to see how much better the picture quality is than the first one I bought many years ago. And this is the 3 megapixel system. I imagine the 5 megapixel system is much better yet, but this is good enough for us.Installation was easy and there was no trouble connecting cameras, even with two of them being at the far end of the house.I did have an issue with one of the cameras failing to go into night mode. It still worked, because the area it was covering had enough ambient light for a picture to be visible at night, but the image was full of artifacts. I contacted Smonet about the issue and they were very responsive. They asked me to send a pic of the nightime image, which I did. The next day they emailed me to say that they were sending out a new camera for me immediately, and returning the defective one was not required. I had the new camera in a couple of days. Everything is working perfectly now.I should also mention that my original Smonet system is still working as well. I have had it for probably 5 or more years and it just keeps chugging along, never failing to work as expected.A minor complaint about both of these systems is the really cheap mouse that they send with them. The original system's mouse is practically unusable now because when you click it, it either does nothing or clicks about 3 times, making it very difficult to navigate the software. The new system's mouse is just as cheap, but so far it is working fine. I recommend replacing the mouse with a decent one. It's just a standard USB connection into the NVR.Also, the system software on the original system is a little difficult to navigate. The new one is better, but could stand to be improved. It's usable though. I would probably give a 4-star rating for that if it weren't for that original system just chugging along for so long without giving me any trouble at all. That kind of reliability is greatly appreciated.

Excellent product! The camera quality is great. I bought this two years ago and it's working fine

The set up was easy and the quality of the videos is excellent. We caught shoplifters with the cameras and the police commented on how good the quality of the videos we sent them. When I did run into a technical issues the tech support was patient and friendly and able to walk me through how to resolve my issue. I would highly recommend these cameras. I would go with the 3T hard drive with 8 cameras for the difference in price if I had to do it again. I thought 4 cameras would be enough but I ended up purchasing an additional 4 to get additional coverage of our space.

We’ve had our camera system for close to a year. When it stopped recording, I went through the troubleshooting tips online first. Then, when those failed, I contacted customer service. I sent a couple of screenshots of the error messages and was told that the hard drive was bad. They immediately sent a replacement and even followed up to make sure it had been received and was working properly. Fantastic people to work with!

Picture is good , seems to be recording but I wouldnt know, I Havent been able to get is set up due to the fact there was no preset password , and Ive called twice for support and no call back in two daysMessaged me tonightGot all the bugs fixedGreat systemI recommend

The cameras are okay. But the app to use them is horrible. The app opens to an ad, with a tiny line to click, to view your cameras.

The selection to purchase this SOMNET Camera System product was an excellent one. The display is clear even on an older VGA monitor I already had for years as well as on my smart phone and iPad. When I reached out to Technical Support during Product Installation they were very pleasant and helpful in responding to my questions resulting in a quick setup.
