Everything I was hoping for
The knife was delivered today and I was impressed with it. The build quality is superb, the sheath locks up securely with the knife and the sheath is perfectly adequate and seems durable. The knife and sheath have a very slender design and very easy to carry on a belt, affix to a pack or stow in a pack. I like the way the handle feels in my hand. The only problem with the handle is that it may be difficult to maintain a good grip if it gets muddy or wet. The knife is solid and weighs less than half a pound so it is a great pack knife for capability and weight savings. Again, I really like this knife and I think it will make a great addition to my camping gear. I was so impressed with the first knife that I bought and recently received the second one. I cannot say enough good things about the quality of these knives. I recently touched up the edges on both and I was pleased with how well they sharpened. I would recommend a light coating of oil on the blade to prevent the exposed edge from developing rust, similar to K-bars. Other than that I would happily recommend this knife for camping and use around the house.

Good Field/Survival/Combat Knife
Pretty well made knife coming straight out of Austria. It’s very lightweight in the hands, and the sheath is very sturdy and keeps the blade locked in tight. The belt loop is also a welcome feature on this knife. It comes in a little bit of factory oil to preserve it but should come clean with a few wipes. I like the added saw blade on the spine of the knife which gives it more utility for different functions considering it is the standard issue field knife of not only the Austrian military but also several countries’ military and police forces such as India, Germany, Poland, South Korea, and Denmark to name a few. Really excellent knife for the cost as well!

Dull as hell, needs talented sharpening
Size and Shape is excellent. functional sheath. Saw back is sharp and useful. Blade is dull as a butter knife. Useless as a knife out of thw box. I have a Tormek T8 and sharpen knives as a side hustle so its not a big issue but its something other should know about. Good grip and functional. needs serious sharpening.

Outstanding value!!
I am an avid knife collector with over 300 knives collected over 55 years. My first knife was a Buck pocket knife given to me by my father. I still have that knife. My background, education, and experience have left me an expert on alloys. The Glock 81 Field knife is an outstanding value in my opinion. The materials used in its manufacture are excellent and the fit and finish are excellent. The blade is made from Bohler UHB20C steel, an Austrian equivalent to the 1095 steel used in the ubiquitous Ka-Bar. UHB20C is purer and appears to perform slightly better. The knife handel and sheath are apparently made from the same polymer as is used in Glock's pistols. I don't batan my knives, I carry a Eastwing hatchet when camping and keep another in the emergency kit in my vehicle but there videos of other folks doing so with this knife on line. The blade on the Glock 81 is narrow but thick at 3/8". The knife comes sharp enough right out of the package but you'll need to work on it a little to get it razor sharp. That's part of the fun in owning a knife though isn't it? The blade seems to hold a edge quite well though. The saw did it's job pretty well, even on some rock hard oak. This knife comes in 4 colors, FDE, O.D. green, dark gray, and black. If you shop around a little you'll be able to buy 3 of them for the cost of 1 Ka-Bar. The black coating on the metal components of this Glock Field knife seems pretty tough but will wear off at some point. To prevent rust I smear Vaseline on all of my carbon steel cutting tools and keep a tube of it in my backpack and emergency kit. Just FYI apple cider vinegar is great for removing rust. So a great, dependable knife for as litte as $25...what's not to like? Another FYI: GlockStore.com usually has the Glock 81 Field Knife on sale. Update: I have been using this knife for awhile now and still like it alot. It a heck of a knife for the money. I'm old-school and prefer a leather sheath but I have to admit I like the Glock sheath very much. It is very durable and easy to attach to backpacks, chest rigs, etc. With a little practice the clip can be released with your thumb as you remove the knife. I like this knife so much I have purchased all 4 colors!

Great knife
Great nice, thinner in the palm than expected but the blade is thick and durable. Like most recents purchases I bought this because of video came out showing it baton through a steel rod with ease. It's a must buy at this price

A different type of tool
Popular knife good for digging, prying, stabbing or light sawing. This is not a hunting/skinning knife. Highly recommended by an ex-SF soldier that I know, as they don't do much game hunting or skinning.
