Great for a noob!
I've been shooting pics for a few years and wanted to try out macro. From my limited experience I believe the lens is very sharp. The 2 dials make it super easy to use and the included bag makes it very portable!

excellent lens
This is a fantastic bargain for a quality lens. Metal body with a high quality Japanese lens and fits perfectly on my Canon M50. I did have to figure out the setting to release the shutter without the lens, but thanks to the internet I found that information and that was the only adjustment I had to make. Takes beautiful closeups.

Excellent image quality, nice build, great price!
This review was written after about 150 test shots in less than ideal conditions and handheld. Which is how I like to test a lenses capability when I first get it. If it performs well if not great conditions if should perform excellent in great ones. The lens is a bit heavy at first, but it's also very smooth. With focus peaking on my camera, I can track small objects like insects on flowers hand-held and not have a ton of misses. I'm happy with the color and it's plenty sharp. On a tripod they would be even crisper. I haven't seen a lot of aberration or fringing in situations where my other lenses I have would have just been awful. That falling water would have been littered with magenta sparkles with my kit lenses for sure. I can see this being my go to lens for closeup and macro. I'm really pleased with this lens, much like I am pleased with my 7artisans Fish Eye. Manual lenses aren't for everyone and require some patience to use. But the results can be rewarding. And the few hundred bucks you can save is super nice too. Too soon to make it 5-stars. But after a few more shoots, I might.

A good lens, but heavy
The lens is built well, but is on the heavy side. It fits the camera, a NIKON Z50, perfect. I'm new to macro photography, so I'm still learning to get use to the manual adjustments. When using the camera on a tripod, the picture quality is very good. The price is about 1/3 of the price for an original Macro NIKON lens.

Practical, sharp and cheap
Bought one of these for my Canon M50, just for fun, because the Canon brand macro lenses are much more expensive. As it turns out the 7Artisans lens is really sharp, and the longer 60mm focal length is very practical amd easy to use. The longer focal length allows extreme closeups without being too close to the subject and scaring away insects or casting a shadow. And don't worry about the lens not having auto focus: with macro it's easier to just set the magnification that you want and then move the camera until the subject is in focus.
