Next, i have a dyson for pets vacuum. would the suction on that be too much for the 8'x10' rug? lastly, how much and for how long does it shed?

The manufacturer suggests that you don't use the beater bar on your vacuum or use the highest carpet setting. I have had this rug (the 8x10) for about a month now. It did not shed AT ALL . I absolutely LOVE it. The colors are beautiful and it is well made.
