Karcher K 5 Power Control Car & Home Pressure Washer

This Karcher K5 is a really good machine and the patio cleaner works very well on my suspended tile patio. But beware, Kärcher seems to have an issue with quality control which was very frustrating. After assembling the machine, the pressure hose dropped off…..after some head scratching it became clear that the little clip that holds the hose in to the elbow on the machine end had never been fitted at the factory! Luckily Amazon also sell this clip but my pressure washing plans had to be put off by a few days. Amazon dealt with the issue very fairly by offering a partial refund so well done Amazon customer care….. less well done to karcher for letting the machine out of the factory in this state in the first place.

Does the job but it wasn’t what I expected. The foam thingy doesn’t really work, it barely eject soap and had to buy a separate foam cannon.

Great purchase. It has simplified some difficult jobs and has elevated my amateur DIY. I mainly use it for car washing and pavement cleaning. I have bought other accessories to help with car washing but what comes in the box is enough. The only thing I would change is the hose. I find it stiff and hard to pack away. There are versions that come with a hose reel so I recommend spending a bit more for ease of use.

Bought the K5 with the extra circular patio attachment. FYI you will need to be home to collect the parcel due to the value. Came in a sturdy box with all the instructions you need, personally I registered the item using the QR code on the instructions on the app and followed directions from there. You need a screwdriver to put the wheels and other bits on but overall was easy to assemble. It is heavy to lift but comes with wheels and a handle to pull it along like a suitcase which is convenient. It makes a bit of noise but not as loud as I had imagined. The attachments are easy to swap over as and when required. It’s definitely worth getting the extra patio attachment as it made the work a lot quicker, using the power lance to finish it off. Was able to blast 2 years of grime off the patio with not much issue at all. The before and after speaks for itself. My only gripes are that the power cable could be longer and the jet hose gets kinked very easily, making it a bit of a faff to keep untangling but you get used to it. It can be tricky to coil it back up and keep it neat on the machine, it would be helpful if there were two hooks to wrap it around rather than just one.
