How long are the straps? Why is this only 8.5 ft long while others say they’re 15 ft?

Our Double sewn Number straps are 8.5 ft of equal useful length to 17 ft single. The others' 15 ft are actually 7.5 ft in double length.

Do I need to adjust the length and height of the straps according to the visual measurement?
