I needed a rail to mount the re-purposed (very heavy) front door for a basement bedroom. I was pleased to find this inexpensive hardware that was delivered promptly, and is very sturdy. Mounting was simple, even though I had to install a wooded mounting board since the studs were not in the "right place" for the mounting hardware. My door rolls very smoothly, and looks great. Note: I did not want to cut a "slice" in the bottom of this door so I purchased a wall mounted roller (also on amazon) to control the door's range of "swing". I would buy again if I can find another barn door application in my house.

I am so happy with this rail and how heavy duty and well made it is! It’s perfectly priced!! I have never built a door or hung barn rails before so I was a little nervous togive it a try! I found the directions to be crystal clear and loved that it came with bolts for a 1 inch or a 2 inch door! It also came with a sway stopper that goes up the middle of the door to stop it from swaying in and out. I didn’t have the right tools to cut up the middle of the door so I screwed the sway stopper into the floor in front of the door to stop it from swaying out. You can see it in the picture. I only added one screw and it hold the door in place perfectly! The rail actually comes in two pieces which at first I was not sure if I would like that however after it’s together you are not able to tell at all that it came in two pieces! It glides smoothly and quietly across the rail with ease! We attached a board to the back because we did not have enough clearance above the door to add the rail. I am over all so happy with this purchase that we have already purchased another one and I have sent many people from our area here to order as well!!

I wasn't sure if these nylon type rollers would be strong enough to hold up under use or be able to hold weight. I was surprised at the quality of them and I tested the weight with a heavier than normal door and myself hanging on it while rolling it back and forth several times and it never skipped a beat . No bending no signs of wear at all. I'm sold especially for the price I paid $ 20 less than I did for my other kit at Lowes. Now the rail is 2 piece but don't fret it's strong and boy is it heavy. You get good quality lag bolts along with a concrete install components. I installed it by myself it took about 20 min. The door guide that comes with it is the same that comes with all the kits ( cheap plastic ) so do your self a favor and get a good door guide, runner . As long as your measurements and level are good it's easy to install. The door just rides on the rail and will roll off if you don't put the door stoppers on. They are shown in the picture's. I forgot mine and rolled my door rite off the rail. It scared the crap out of me . Hope this helps.

I was happy to find a good quality Barn Door system for such a great price. There are a lot of reviews here, but I'd like to take my review time to talk mostly about safety. The door I hung was about 80 pounds with the hardware installed, so no way I want it to derail! First, the door stops are good, but as you follow the instructions, the stop on the short side of the rail relies completely in the stop to stay the door on track. The two set screws are good, but for safety I'd suggest you put a screw right into the track, close to the end, to ensure the stop cannot work loose and let the door slide off the track. Second, the Rubber Ends in the kit, I believe, are intended to keep the rollers from lifting off the track. Not clear in the instructions, but in my case one of the stops was not thick enough to prevent the roller from popping off. I inserted a 3/8 inch washer under the stop, and now if I lift up on either side of the door, the roller won't lift off the track. Test your door! Lift up and make sure the the Rubber End keeps in from lifting off the track. Third, the saw kerf Floor Glide provided is hard to install and isn't very secure unless installed perfectly. I'd suggest buying one of the roller style of door bottoms from Amazon. Looks better and keeps the door well secured "in and out" wise for safety and it is much easier to install. Cutting a kerf in the bottom of a door isn't that easy. Last, install a sturdy header board. Unlikely the holes in the track are going to align with your studs, and you need studs for a heavy door. Even a lighter door creates a lot of dynamic load. So, use at least a 1x6 header screwed into the studs, and then lag your track into that header to make sure the door doesn't find it's way onto your head someday. This is a very nicely made, sturdy unit, but take a bit of extra care for safety.

This is a high quality product and strong. The steel rails are heavy and the rollers are smooth as butter. I had to make my own door. It is 72” by 43 1/2” and it worked perfectly and it rolls with a slight touch. My package did not have the connector for connecting the rails to hang them. I found you do not need it. The rails are heavy so I just found where I wanted to put them and put a small line to mark the location. I then used a four foot level to mark along my header where I wanted them. I then put one of the rails up along my lines and marked the holes. I then drilled small holes and then used the lag screws to temporarily hold up one section, just putting the stew in the header to hold the rail securely . I was then able to put the other section up and lock them together. I did not realize that where the two rails lock together there is a hole for a lag screw that holds these 2 rails together, very good design. I then marked the holes for the second section and drilled the holes. Then I just took it down and put up each section with the spacers and made sure it was all level as I tightened everything down. I also ordered a handle and bottom door roller from Amazon. The one included would not work with my carpet and concrete floor, easier to order something better and with the price of this great product it is no problem and still a fantastic bargain.

I have used two of these now and they work perfectly! Very easy to assemble and slides nice every time. We built our own doors and the hardware attaches easily to those as well.

Everything slid in place without a hitch. Solid construction, heavy materials, great hardware. I did use a different style of floor guide, though. I didn't want to score the bottom of the door. Really beautiful!! Lots of compliments.
