Can just two people play?

Yes, two people can play. My wife and I play all the time. The game does become much more challenging, and fun, with the more people you add. But two person games are great too. It makes the strategy aspect of the game easier because you can keep track of which cards your opponent has picked up.

Which is better? set? karma? quiddler? thanks! (we like sleepig queens, monopoly deal and uno but now skip bo)

It depends on what you like. My family loves Five Crowns the best by this company. Five Crowns and Quiddler are similar games. Just one uses numbers the other letters. As some of my family doesn't know how to spell very well they prefer the Five Crowns. If you like spelling games you will like Quiddler. Out of the three mentioned above sets would be their next choice. This is a matching game. You place 12 cards in a grid on the table so everyone can reach and see them as you clear sets you flip over new cards in there place till you go through the pile. The person with the most sets wins. To be honest I don't think we have even played Karma yet. The object is to get rid of all your cards so if you like UNO you will probably like this game. I hope this helps.

When the rules tell you to "clear the pile", does it mean to take it out of the game, or does it mean to shuffle them into the draw pile?

Hi Mia, Hi Holly,When it says "clear the pile," this means to remove the cards in the pile from play for the rest of the game. Where does the next card come from when someone picks up the pile?

Hi,  the next player plays whatever card they want.   We combine karma with karma king card game for more fun.  Put the 2’s from both decks together,  the 3’s, etc,; then divide the  2’s into 2 piles, the 3’s, etc., each pile made up of reds and blacks.  You will have 2 decks of cards made up of red and black cards.   Use one deck to play with.  Decide which karma cards to play with.   Our game day group love playing this game.
