Transforms your gimbal!
Truly a great addition to your gimbal. Though you can't get those ultra low "briefcase POV" shots, especially that track and transition to high ones, you can still use this for probably 80% of gimbal work, and that 80% will be hugely more comfortable and controlled. The rotating feet are nice for reducing the bulk when you stash it in your car. Or they're easy to remove completely, without a tool - which is why I went with with the SmallRig vs the competition. The top-center area has some "flatted" spots to help reduce rotation of a clamp you might put up there for your monitor. But I often offset my monitor so I can hang the ring from an easy rig, and I've never experienced unwanted rotation of my 7" monitor.Overall, fantastic, and I basically never use my gimbal without it.

Will needed upgrade
This was a well needed upgrade for my gimbal. Holding the gimbal by itself was a struggle but with this square framing it helps a lot. Also it stops the noise going to the internal microphone when I'm recording. With my hands spread apart it gives me better grip and less fatigue.

Super nice for the price, but a few drawbacks...
I think this is an amazing product for the price. It feels great and is lightweight. There is plenty of room for the equipment, but it's not overly large. It goes hand in hand with my Crane 3S gimble. The packaging is clean, and the box remains useful for storage or transport. I don't hide this box from clients at all. But, there are a couple of issues I have found.1st, be careful of knowing the rig's balance. The feet turn (twist), but one side is longer then the other. So if you have the short side of the feet on the heavy side of the rig, it's likely doing what my rig did, fall over. I was lucky I was near and the rig was on the ground. I caught it, so no harm was done. But I can see the threat this can pose on a lens.2nd, the attachment that the gimble connects to can get lose. It's an easy enough fix, but don't forget your hex tool set. When it's lose the rig wobbles back and forth & it feels like it'll flip over and smack your knees...or worse. It did go a year before this developed. But it came about fast. However, it's been going great since re-tightening (which, again, is easy to do). Just be aware of this and have a hex tool set on you all the time. But overall, this has been a complete joy to use and has saved my arms plenty. So it still gets 4 stars and my recommendation.

It could be better
You are better off with Smallrig recent upgrade of this same guy with a Bluetooth controller.Had to return this one to get an upgrade which is a few dollars more with more benefits.

Perfect.
If you’re flying a heavy setup this will save you. More control and a better stance. Get it and never look back.
