Note my 5 star rating is for the product...I have Prime and it took an extra 4 days to get to me past when it was supposed to be here.... I am a pediatric nurse and also a mother to a 4 year old boy. Now I really wanted to get an otoscope because my son has had so many problems with excessive wax buildup I wanted to see for myself what I was really dealing with before I took him in to get a good cleanout. I'm so glad I bought this! I finally understand why my son is constantly rubbing his ears and this allows me to keep a good eye on his ears. It even works on adults too (has been tested). It comes with tips for an infant, an older child (one I use on my son, can use on younger and older too), and one for an adult. They are NOT disposable tips but we wipe them down after each use and clean up great. They just pull off and insert another tip if needed. The amount of light that comes out is perfect. Everyone's ear canals are shaped different so you just have to fiddle around with that but you will see the eardrum with no problem as far as lighting goes. I don't worry about using the pictures because they really aren't all that helpful but for some they are useful in pointing in the right direction of a cause for ear problems. It turns on and off by a button on the bottom of the otoscope. The case is also a definite bonus. It's hard and has nice lined places for storage. Overall, great product for a great price. Would buy again for sure!

I've used the Dr. Mom otoscope to check for ear mites & ear infections in my 6 dogs for more than 13 years. Whenever I see head shaking or ear scratching, especially after a recent bath, I pull it out to verify all is well in the ear canal. Recently I dropped my otoscope onto a tiled floor and the head chipped where the lens was held in place - I contacted DocMom and despite the age of my unit, they sent out a replacement right away. Wonderful service on a fantastic product!

I and my son are subject to frequent ear infections and I wanted a way to view the ear canal easily. I am medically trained and have used expensive hospital and office otoscopes but their price was too high. After reading other rave reviews I purchased the Dr. Mom LCD Otoscope a few weeks ago. I figured the price of less than $30 was low enough that I wasn't risking too much. I am amazed at the brightness and clarity of the view of the middle and inner ear. I was skeptical of all the review accolades, but I have to admit they were spot-on! It is well-designed, seems like it will last with reasonable care. Certainly not as heavy or rugged as a professional model, but certainly more than adequate for home use. I chose the scope in a hardshell case vs a soft bag, a couple more dollars but much better protected. Incredible Dr Mom LED Pocket Otoscope includes hard case - BEST HOME OTOSCOPE! My only complaint is that I wish it came with more pictures of the ear and possible conditions - only 4 are supplied and they are part of a thin cardboard sleeve that fits around the case. However the website contains more and they are certainly easily found over the Internet. This ia terrifc product for home use at a very attractive price.

This is an excellent product! Our 18 month old daughter has had a few ear infections and we never knew that was the case until taking her in to the doctor. Furthermore, we never knew if the condition was fully improved until going in for follow ups. The Dr. Mom Otoscope allows us to catch an ear infection early and know when our little girl is better! Worth it's weight in gold! Thank you Dr. Mom Otoscope for this easy to use and effective tool that most would think is only available to doctors.

I did a lot of research on this before I bought it and I have to say I understand why this had so many good reviews. I have a cheaper version of an otoscope that I bought at walgreens and the clarity of the lens and the brightness of the light is night and day difference. I bought these because my daughter has ear tubes and she still gets ear infections and is constantly messing with her ears when she's teething. This comes with 3 size tips for looking in the ear. The light is nice and bright. The handle of the otoscope is a thin metal so you don't have to worry about it dropping and plastic breaking. The tips are plastic. The tips fit nice and tight on the end of the otoscope so they don't fall off with the pressure of putting it against the ear. The case is a hard plastic. The on/off switch is a button at the bottom of the otoscope.

My wife has had ear problems for a couple of months. I wanted to see for myself what was going on by looking in the ear. The otoscope was easy to use: put in batteries, snap on the correct size cone, and stick it in the ear. The glass lens was very clear and the magnification was perfect to veiw the ear canal and eardrum. It won't make you a doctor but it will help to understand what the doctor is talking about, or to determine how sever the infection is. I found my lack of experience in interpreting what I was seeing was a limiting factor so if your kid has an earache you are still going to have to take them in. But, If the ear is blocked with wax or a forgien object you will know that too and might be able to flush it out with the proper equipment. The bottom line is this otoscope works as an effective medical device at an unusually reasonalble price.
