iPhone 7 Adapter, Mertlin Lightning to 3.5mm Jack, Apple Headphone Adapter with Aluminium Casing for Listen to The Music, Length: 6.5” [No Phone Calls, No Credit Card Reader], Black

I bought this because the Apple supplied adapter for my iPhone 7 has a very thin wire. I walk daily for exercise and I didn't think the Apple adapter would hold up to the constant rubbing and twisting that you get when you carry your phone in your pocket with the headset cord hanging out. I didn't mind the fact that it was only good for listening to audio because that's all I needed for my use case.My advice would be to stay away from this product as it clearly has quality/consistency issues as evidenced by the number of 5 star and 1 star reviews. The example that was sent to me has several issues. It pops and clicks periodically and when it does the earbud volume either changes or goes out altogether. About half the time when I plug it in the phone doesn't recognize it and continues to feed audio to the external speakers. When it does work the housing for the lightening connector and bottom of my phone get quite warm to the touch. I can contrast this to the Apple supplied adapter which has none of these issues.

Buyers be aware that a new iPhone 7 may come with this connector. But if your cell phone does not come equipped with this - it is useful if you like to listen to music through your cellular phone using headphones.

This cable does not work reliably with an iPhone 7. I misplaced the small white adapter that came with the unit, not realizing it was attached to the airbud headphone packaging. I bought this.It started throwing static and then the iPhone 7 simply rejected it after going to IOS 10.2. It would just play via speaker and not redirect sound to the headphone jack with this cable. Therefore, I cannot recommend it. Unfortunately, like so many things Apple, you have to stay inside the ecosphere of their stuff only.

I've had this for a few days and am pleased. I'm not a fan of the Apple headphones and wanted to continue using mine. The adapter works well, so I'm happy.

From the start, I was unable to use the inline volume and play/pause controls on my headphones using this device, which I could use with the Apple dongle that came with my phone. Also, unplugging the 3.5 mm cord does not pause music, which threw me off a bit. After 2 months, my phone started saying DEVICE NOT SUPPORTED every time I plugged these in. Tried it with different headphones and cell phones so this adapter is definitely the problem. Suck it up and pay for the Apple adapter, you're just throwing money away on this product.

Excellent product. Well made. Very "positive" feel. Connection solid and tight.

There is a reason they only give you 30 days for a refund, because on the 31st day, the product completely stops working. The iPhone no longer recognizes it and it becomes obsolete. Not worth the money, just pay a little more and buy the Apple certified product.

There's something off about the audio quality when I use this product. I tried switching the headphones I used to listen to my music on my iPhone 7, and the problem persisted. This is either a poor-quality product, or it's not 100% compatible with iPhone 7.
