August DTA102 Extendable Telescopic TV Antenna
I've noticed that one of the reviewers said that they have a big TV and it somewhat blocks the signal. I have a 32", so, I did not experience that problem. The antenna itself is super small, basically it's a pen length. It extends 2 times making it it like 3 pen lengths or so.I had a regular rabbit ears antenna and it broke. I was looking and saw this one. At first I wasn't sure about it, to tell you the truth if it didn't have 4 reviews with either 4.5 or 5 stars overall, I probably wouldn't have looked at it at all.I like that it's so small and there are no cables, it connects directly into the input. I got about 30 channels with the rabbit ear RCA antenna and 26 channels with this one. I live in OKC area. This antenna gets all the major channels, ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC. That's really all I need. On top of those it gets PBS for my kid and CW34, there are good shows there every now and then. Everything else I watch on a computer, but it's nice to have access to some TV channels as well.Overall, I am very happy that it's so small with one less cable to hook up and it gets everything I need and then some.

Great low, cost compact antenna, but not quite big enough for a 40" TV
The antenna picks up more than 30 HDTV channels in downtown NYC, reception and sound are both clear and gnerally reliable. My only complaint is that it's so short. We tilted the antenna down so that it can receive a signal in the space between the TV and TV stand. If we tilt it up, the antenna is entirely obstructed by the TV and the wall and won't receive a signal. I suspect that if the antenna were a few inches longer it would receive more channels and more reliable reception. All in all, though, a good buy for the price.

Pathetic: Did Not Pick Up Any Channels
I got duped into buying this antenna after reading the positive reviews. (After I looked over the profiles of the reviewers who had left 4- or 5-star reviews, I strongly suspect that most of these reviewers are shills -- You win this round.)This antenna is worse than the one that came with my Avermedia TV. The Avermedia antenna managed to pick up 20 channels. This one picked up a grand total of ZERO channels -- and I live in a metropolitan area. I suggest you pick up a Mohu Leaf instead. The Mohu a bit spendy but it's rated 4 stars by over 7000 reviewers and recommended by a number of trusty reviewers."If it's too good to be true, it probably is."*sigh* I never learn.

A suitable replacement for that single thin wire antenna that you're trying to replace
I was surprised to discover that Amazon didn't carry any of those single, simple, thin wires that come with FM radios. The pictured stick, however, looks like it will do the job of improving local radio signals (from a regular radio and an HD radio) without the requirement of a large, gauche, rabbit-ears or T-Shaped antenna. In case like me you were wondering exactly how the stick might fit your radio's (or television set's) antenna port, the rod part of the antenna is only several inches in length and the base has a handy "swivel" that allows the antenna to stick straight up (or down, or sideways) in relation to the radio. The antenna is not as powerful as one of the T-Shaped antennas made of 300-ohm television cable, but it's reasonably close to the single wire that it's replacing. Moreover, it fits most popular F-connector-style antenna ports and is inconspicuous. When not positioned to receive an optimal signal, the antenna tends to introduce an irritating, loud, low hum so be prepared to play with it to achieve the desired result.[Warning: conditions vary--weather, equipment, people, etc., can alter the magnetic field, lessening the effectiveness of the antenna. Currently, I'm having better success with the built-in antennae of both my Tivoli Model One and Tivoli Stereo. So I've removed the pictured external one in each case--at least for the present. But if the built-in antenna produces a fringey sound, or begins to favor the irritating "hum" that I was getting with the pictured antenna, I'll re-install the August Telescopic Antenna (an easy operation). That not working, I'm glad to see that Amazon offers a similar antenna that is expressly made for installation on Tivoli radios, tuners and receivers (at a $5 premium, it would be worth it for reliably clear audio).

No channels with this antenna
I have tested this on two different TVs that previously picked up about 30 channels with a flat non-amplified antenna (the Amazon Basics antenna). This antenna failed to capture any stations on either TV. For a situation that calls for a very small boost to get a signal from no antenna at all, this may provide some cost benefit but not for me. It was small, seems well made for the simple device that it is, but provides no benefit at all in my situation. I didn't rate this one star since I do not hate this non-animated object, it just didn't perform its job. I would not recommend buying this antenna; purchase a slightly more expensive flat antenna instead.

Works for MY local TV, but check YOUR towers first!!!
This is great for a small cheap antenna. However, I knew what stations I wanted to pick up and my expectations were realistic. Before you pick ANY antenna, I would suggest you search the web for "TV Reception Map". It will tell you where your nearby towers are, so you can know if you need a beefier antenna. For me, the only possible towers to pick up (that aren't on the other side of a mountain range), were only 2.5 miles from my house, so I figured this would work. For me, it works perfectly, and I get a good crisp HD image on my LG 47" 1080p LED TV. Can't beat it for $5.xx.

Great for Bose Wave radios
I got this to use with my Bose Wave radio. The radios are expensive enough, I don't need to spend $20-30 just on an antenna so this $5 item fit the bill. This antenna is adjustable so the antenna part can be made to be perpendicular to the plug, so it will stick up vertically when plugged in horizontally. It plugged right into the coaxial antenna jack on my radio and greatly improved reception. The Bose radios should really come with something like this out of the box but hey thanks to Amazon it's no problem!
