Great family game and easy to throw in a purse and take with you. Had fun playing with my adult kids. Easy for anyone to play.

Fun game to play. It is a nice, durable plastic for playing. I have it in the classroom to play with students for fun. It is age appropriate, but can be tough because some of these kids don't know what some of the things are that are posted. Oh well. That can make it more difficult to play, but it is still fun.

I owned this game years ago and loved it, but unfortunately some old batteries leaked and ruined my original one. When I was planning a girls' game night, I knew I had to replace it, so I had one shipped overnight just so my friends could try it. At first, everyone was a little hesitant because they weren't familiar with the game, but within minutes we were all laughing and having a great time. It ended up being one of the highlights of the night, and we couldn't stop playing. The game was such a success that I brought it to work during Lab Week, and it was just as much fun there. People from different departments jumped in, and it quickly turned into a lot of laughter, friendly competition, and team bonding. If you're looking for a game that's easy to learn, gets everyone involved, and creates a lot of memorable moments, Catch Phrase is hard to beat. It's one of those rare games that works with almost any group.

Love this game...we have literally wore this game out multiple times over the years. I believe this is our 3rd time purchasing it. It's good family fun and it's compact which makes it easy to toss into a suitcase, a car door pocket, or anywhere. Fun to play and easy to take anywhere!

I’ve loved catchphrase since I was a kid. We perched this for an upcoming family trip so there would be a less comber sum version of the game and of course we gave it a quick try so much fun for the whole family

I bought this game to use when family and guests come. It provides hours of fun and laughter!

We already owned a copy (ours is white and blue) and we wanted to get this one for a family member. Got to play it with them on Christmas. The only complaint I can come up with for this version is that the ticking sound is a little louder than it needs to be. But once you try to play Catch Phrase this way, you never want to go back to the paper version of the game. This keeps time and score while displaying your phrase to you, so it's everything you need. The batteries in mine last for a year or two with regular use, so hopefully this is no different. You can't turn the game off, it just shuts off by itself if no buttons are pressed for a while. For those who have never played this, the game itself is fast paced and fun. It is ideal as a party game or in larger groups. When one person starts he/she has a word or a phrase displayed on the little digital screen. Let's say it's "Living the Dream". The individual then has to try to get his/her teammates to guess and say out loud the phrase without saying any of the words, saying what they rhyme with, or gestures. With the exception of occasionally getting stuck, or accidentally saying a form of one of the words (like "to live) and having to start over with a new phrase, it is a quick game of verbal charades - in this example maybe you would tell people how many words and maybe getting them to guess "the opposite of dying?" and "what do you do when you sleep?" and hoping that they put it all together. But the fun of it is that you have to think on the spot and you never know where people's minds will go with any particular phrase. The entire time you play, a timer is going. You want your team to guess your phrase and pass the game to the next person in the circle (on the opposite team). They have their own phrase to try to get people to guess. You can look over their shoulder to make sure they don't accidentally cheat. You don't want the buzzer to go off in your hands, because that's a point for the other team, so people try to be as fast as they can. Since this is such a fun game to get people pumped and it can be played very quickly (for example, while people wait for more guests to arrive), we play it often and sometimes adapt to our own rules if there aren't the right number of players - like everybody guessing instead of having teams (again, just because it's fun), or playing "honest Catch Phrase" with just the two of us - where there is only one person per team, so obviously you have to trust them to do their best to get you to guess even though it is not, ultimately, in their best interest. My point is, if you like games, or even if you aren't sure if you are going to be big into board gaming and are just getting your first games - you should have this one on the shelf. There is no learning complicated rules and if one person isn't particularly good at it, they can often be teamed with those who understand how they think best, or just the stronger team that would win all the time if you didn't have someone to even it out ;-)

Exceptionally fun game but it is NOT for the unimaginative. The players need to be reasonably matched in cultural experiences, else a lot of frustration builds up. But with 5000 different words or catch phrases the trick may be to match the group with a particular category. As the game goes on folks do get the hang of it but it take as bit of communication skills on both parties to make it competitive. It CAN become addictive.

Having had the non-electronic version of this game for many years, the game has always been a family favourite. However, as we were all getting older, the tiny writing was getting harder to read. This new electronic version fixed this - the screen is good-sized as well as backlit and everyone can now read it more easily. With 5000 or so words/phrases available, it longevity is assured. The inbuilt timer and scoring mechanisms both work well. A great game!

I love board games . My husband and some family members not so much. This is FINALLY the first game I am able to get everyone to play and ENJOY ! No paper, pencil or little pieces- just this plastic disc you pass around ! It’s so easy to play and explain, and easy to throw in your bag to parties , dinners etc. there’s different categories and the score is kept right on this disc . Love it would make a great gift too except I wish that the packaging was nicer . It comes in a brown cardboard box - which might make it less giftable for some people
