Surface Pro 8 - A Perfect Companion for Productivity
As a Ph.D. student in physics, my Surface Pro 8 has become an essential tool for my studies, and I am thoroughly impressed with its performance. Despite initial doubts caused by misleading reviews, I can confirm that this is indeed the genuine Surface Pro 8. The computer meets and exceeds all my expectations, making it the ideal device for students. One of the standout features is the exceptional battery life. I can work for hours without worrying about charging, and it has become a reliable companion during long study sessions. The portability of the Surface Pro 8 is a major advantage, allowing me to take it anywhere without feeling weighed down. The performance is exceptional, handling my extensive note-taking and mathematical development with ease. The RAM and processor are perfectly suited for my needs, and I've even been able to play demanding games on this machine. The power and portability combination make it the best choice for students seeking a versatile and efficient computer. I highly recommend the Surface Pro 8.

Great portable workhorse.
The fact that I can turn the screen to 120hz is a game changer for me. We're all used to our smart phones running at 120hz, this thing runs buttery smooth just like them. The speaker quality was a delightful surprise. I was expecting some poor quality meh speakers, but I actually prefer the built in speakers to my external ones. This is my writing machine and the battery life has been fantastic so far. Coupling this with the signature keyboard and pen has definitely made me more productive. Being able to carry it around wherever I go given its light weight is lifesaving. Definitely recommend, but do NOT buy it from BuyBoxChampion. They'll give you a refurbed one without advertising it as such. Mine had minor cosmetic damage from them despite it being 'new'. I kept it because it works and honestly I don't care about minor damage, but false advertising is garbage.

Surface Pro 8 is an awesome 2-in-1 tablet, and good as a laptop
I have been using the Surface Pro 8, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of SSD, Intel Core i5 since April 2022 and it's an awesome and great device. I use it primarily for media consumption, watching lots of YouTube videos and Twitch streamers, as well as Netflix and Disney+, and it's great because of its screen size, brightness is adjustable and the 120Hz refresh rate helps with the fluidity of Windows 11. The speakers deliver really good sound, music sounds awesome, much better than my Lenovo ThinkPad laptop. As a result, I can enjoy media on my couch or in my bed after finishing work, the versatility of the kickstand makes it great for this. I also purchased the Signature Keyboard with Slim Pen 2, more than one year after getting the Surface Pro 8, and it is a good companion, although I don't use the Surface Pro for writing documents or programming, as I have my laptop for doing such activities. As a laptop, the Surface Pro with the Signature Keyboard is good, however the size of the keyboard makes it harder to type sometimes, as I'm used to the ThinkPad keyboards. Nonetheless, Surface Pro 8 as a laptop works good for me. All in all, the Surface Pro 8 is a great 2-in-1 tablet, it delivers really good value and I recommend it.

Exactly what I was looking for
I love the versatility of this product. The ad-ons increase the total investment to a little more than I wanted to spend, but the portability and functionality are perfect for my line of work. I’m not incredibly tech-savvy, so I can’t go into detail about specific product performance, but other than a couple minor bugs, the speed, memory, and storage space are all more than adequate for my needs. Very happy overall.

defective tablet
this tablet broke within minutes of using. as I was setting up, it kept shutting down even though there was full battery. This kept happening as I was using it and eventually it just turned off and would not turn back on. It was full battery and even plugged into charger and I kept holding the power button and it would not turn on, just kept showing windows logo. It sucks because it really was a good item but this problem makes it unusable. According to others, this is a common problem with this tablet as well. Do not get this.

reporting using this device...
If you are looking for a PC that is a stand alone - this is not for you. I have this hooked up to a sophisticated hub that supports my connecting to two other monitors, an external drive, a gamer headset, and mouse, with keyboard connected via Bluetooth. This is a relatively lightweight option for personal use. I use a completely different laptop for my business activities. A major Plus - this is Windows 11 compatible. I bought one for my wife .. but she has resisted and still uses a tower PC running windows 10 and a VERY SLOW cpu. Admittedly, this laptop is FAST, very fast. Hope this review was helpful - sorry for being so back and forth on good / bad / stream0-of-consciousness comments.

Good but with some disappointments.
I replaced my Surface 4 with this model. It's a great form factor and meshed well in my lifestyle. This version ships with Windows HOME. With this version you do not get Remote Desktop. (they call it Surface Pro...but you don't get Windows Pro???). This means that you need to pay $100 more to upgrade and get Remote Desktop. In my work that's a major inconvenience. Ultimately, I'll need to fork over the $100. There is no mico SD card slot. To get more memory you need to replace the system SSD. There is a access panel for this but then you get into transferring the Operating System with all those potential hiccups. My old model, with a card slot, I routinely swapped out cards depending on my usage. I was hoping the battery life was some improved. It might be marginally but use it for a couple hours and it's going to need a charge. I wouldn't recommend this for students. Having 2 classes in row will mean you're looking to sit near a plug in class to keep it charged. You can dim the screen down but that's not always possible when you're in a bright classroom.

Her's your new laptop! :-)
I ordered this SurfacePro 8 to replace a traditional W10 Lenovo laptop which I have been using for about 10 years. I found that since I used a lot of MS Office apps on a daily basis, my iPad simply didn't work well for me. This SufacePro8 DOES!! I was initially concerned about the lack of keyboard BUT with W11 this SurfacePro8 doesn't need an external keyboard. I do find that I really needed an external mouse -- the W11 pop-up and the SurfacePro touch screen functions do not give me the mouse options that I use regularly. Any external wirless mouse would do EXCEPT the SurfacePro8 has two USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports. :-{ However, I found the following USC-C docking station made especially for the SurfacePro8 that solved my USB (and other) interface issues: Surface Pro 8 Hub Docking Station with 4K HDMI, USB-C Thunerbolt 4 (Display+Data+PD Charging), USB 3.0, USB 2.0, TF Card Slot, Triple Display (Surface Pro 8+HDMI+USB C) for Microsoft Surface Pro 8 I ma now a happy SurfacePro8 user!! :-)

Must buy
The pictures are Platinum. Description is graphite. Received platinum. Invoice is for graphite. Irresponsible Amazon and seller Electroarena wasting time and money. Now I have to return this just to get the correct invoice. Which by the way won't happen because graphite isn't even available in India for this model. The product is AMAZING. I just upgraded from 2017 surface pro (5). This is a full laptop plus tablet and worth every bit they charge for it. I used the SP5 for 4 years as my only laptop and tablet and it was such an awesome journey. If you want a lightweight all in one product look no more, 100% go for this one. edit - the seller [electroarena, we love you] gave the correct invoice once i figured out how to actually contact them, sadly amazon cc wasnt very helpful there, they kept asking to return the product, which is not possible because the agent wont take back a platinum SP8 when the return order says graphite.. i have been in that pickle before with another wrong color item. i forgot how i found the link but it was somewhere in the orders page. update on the device - loving every minute with it. MS has improved so many things since SP(5). I cant afford the keyboard+ new pen 50k. so using with a foldable bluetooth keyboard i found on amazon. Old pen isnt working well on SP8 so probably will have to change the tip? or buy the new one pen alone, without the keyboard. The lines are interrupted on SP8. it is still smooth on SP (5). So i guess the old pen is not compatible may be. The windows 11 is awesome. Im using mostly as a laptop, making PPTs, editing documents, reading pdsfs, conducting large zoom meetings, editing videos, posting on YT.. everything is going smoothly. I dont play big games, so no idea. Bluestacks is smooth. Tablet feature when travelling, consuming media. Battery is solid, lasts a few days with all this going on. Charger is good, a minimal humming noise might be there, i researched, its normal. Edit after few months use Replaced pen tip, older pen is working well on sp8. Got a tomtac case, absolutely loving it. Complete laptop experience, complete tablet experience. Very smooth. MS has finally reached "there".

Pro 8 2 in 1
The Pro 8 has a number of features that meet my needs. Great graphics, the EVO platform, i5 processor and a pen (sold separately). At 13 inches it is a perfect size for almost any application. While a little low on memory, the Pro 8's use will be limited to art (CSP), photo (Affinity) photo books (Blurb) and writing. All loaded the pre-installed programs plus my additions only use 40GB. It will be my on the road replacement for my desktop digital display tablet.
A**.
Charger pin is american 2 prong
What should I do, buy a extension 3pin convertor or buy a complete new cable with 3 pin . very confusing. Rest is fine.
