This is by far the best book I’ve read about Cybersecurity, it will definitely keep you prepared with its tips and tricks! Excellent work by the authors.

if you're a career freak like me and like to plan every little detail possible about your next steps into the cybersec field, this book is extremely helpful. After reading thi you'll now how to pick a specialization (or search for the available ones in demand), pick the certification to start off + time/cost estimation, how to job hunt, how to get experience etc etc. It's a great book if you are looking for a mentor to guide you and it will also provide some basic concepts (very brief tho, the book is focused on career)

This book shows and explains how anyone even without IT background can join the cyber security field. It outlines paths to take and how one can train, get demanded certificates and network with people already in the field. Over the years I have not found any other book that takes all that information into one format. A must-read!

Like a lot of other folks I found a passion in cybersecurity but had no idea where to start. I became an avid follower of Gerald Auger several months ago and was absolutely elated to find out he was co-authoring a book to lay out a master plan to break into cybersecurity I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it! Without a doubt this is one of the most helpful resources I have located in my studies and has made a huuuge difference in my approach to my career aspirations. Unlike a lot of other resources this book truly covers all you need to know from A-Z about realistic expectations for those of us trying to break into the field. From the beginning they are very honest about not only the pros but also the cons of a job in cyber to help you decide this is really the field for you. They lay out several paths into the industry, what you should focus on to obtain a job in the field, and then what life is like in that particular sector. They provide insight into formal education, certifications, and self learning. Provide an excellent set of hands on labs and additional resources to check into. One of the most helpful sections discusses the biggest parts of landing a job, which is not always mentioned, your personal branding, tailoring you previous experiences to pivot into cybersecurity, resume tips, and even how to land and prep for the interview! They even take it a step further and provide a section for after you land a job on how to level up, avoid burnout, and recognize toxic work environments. I cannot stress how much I recommend this book for anyone looking to enter or even get a promotion in the cybersecurity industry! 5 stars is not enough for this book!

This info is fantastic and super easy to grasp. It's laid out logically, but it keeps things interesting and far from dry. Thank you all for writing and contributing to the book. #Team SC.

Good read to get you started. Very helpful information but it is very geared towards Americans and the American lifestyle (all work). I didn't like (actually hated) the social media advice that was advising you to create a "network" of people by spamming them with generic messages and reposting random articles. I understand that LinkedIn is cringe personified where this kind of stuff can work but I had to skip the rest of that chapter. You do not need a "personal brand" on social media to get a job. You can just be good at your job and have a good CV. The author says they spend 5 hours a week (!) just doing their socials outside of their actual work and life commitments. Lunacy. The rest of the book is very good though.
