I did not receive the brand that was advertised, but rather a poorly made piece of junk that I've seen advertised for much less on other sites. The device buzzed, made loud noises when the picture came on, did not extract 5.1 audio, and the picture disappeared when switching to another audio setting. I returned this immediately and purchased another type of audio extractor from Amazon, which also did not work. The "manual" is a folded up piece of paper with minimal information on it. Useless.

When connected to projector, Audio is getting turned off.Also when I turn every day, my screen is always pink color for the first time , until I switch the HDMI source next input or any other and come back.

Has its own blue light, making it easy to remember to unplug it when not being used.This will actually separate the audio and video and convert the audio signals on red and white cables to analog, unlike the cheap extractors elsewhere on Amazon which do not work because audio is an analog signal and HDMI is digital.I found this to work well with my NES classic being sent to a projector.

So far so good. Got this yesterday for me to use on my chromecast to projector to speakers. Works great. I had to turn the sound on the projector off and the sound comes out great through my speakers. I only give this 4 stars because the product can be quite temperamental. Meaning that the cords and alignment are crucial to the device. Once you find a good setup for all things connected, leave it there, don't mess with it. Other than that the product is great!

Purchased as a gift, when I got there to help set it up, it did not work and I had missed the return window by 8 hours. Oh well.

Tried to use it downstream of a three-way HDMI switch. Signal came through fine from two different PVRs, but not from a Roku. I Guess the Roku didn't have a very strong signal and with the two devices in the line it just got attenuated a bit too much.

Needed a method to provide optical audio from my Roku HDMI connection to my home theater surround sound.Works great and easy to setup. Well satisfied with the results.

Does not work for extracting audio from a Raspberry Pi zero. That’s all I know.

Worked well for 1 week then stopped working. Not satisfied at all.Expect a replacement
