My lamp arrived well wrapped fro rascodog. Purchased the 15-20 lb, 10 inch WBM and it is bright beautiful, sits on a light wood base with a cord, easy to switch on/off touch flip switch. This morning I came downstairs and found it beaming from the corner living room table. Hmmmm, I had turned it off last night when I went to bed? My husband caught up to me at the coffeepot at said "hey, not sure what's up with that big rock light thing you bought, if it's a psychological thing or what, but it make me feel good, you know the whole room feels good. I don't know if it's the color or the fact that it's salt crystals...well it doesn't matter I'm glad you bought it because it makes me feel better. I was thinking about buying one for the extra room upstairs, a smaller one?" Note here, I took this lamp out of the box and plugged it in last night about 10pm while we were watching TV, then turned it out when we went to bed. He went up much earlier than I so exposed to it only a short time. It had such a positive impact on him in that small window of time! He had to literally crawl through a pile of stuff I was working on to get to the lamp this morning to turn it on, but he was motivated! We'll be getting at least one more smaller one for his office/music studio area, holy cow. Sending one to a friend as well. Whether it's a psychological effect or has a true physical effect on the environment, it is amazingly beautiful, comforting and looks cool too! Yes buying at least two more. Wow.

These salt lamps emit a nice orangy pink glow. I'm not sure if the claims of producing better quality air and healthier environment are true, but they are pretty cool looking and the glow they produce gives the room a nice ambiance, I like them for that alone. I also really like the dimmer switch feature. I have 2 of these lamps, the 11" ( 1004), the 8" ( 1002) and I also have a different salt lamp that is the bowl version, a metal bowl/basket with chunks of salt rocks and a bulb in the center of the bowl. So, I have 3 salt lamps total and have placed them in different rooms in the house. I do like these 2 lamps better then the bowl lamp. While the bowl lamp is pretty nice looking and I do like it OK, these are more compact and space friendly and the design of it means you can put in anywhere, a table, bookcase, counter etc. and it looks nice. I also believe that if the health benefits are in fact real, then this style lamp would prob be more effective in emitting said Ions in the air. Overall, I really like these alot and would definitely recommend them. They would also make nice gifts and I plan on ordering a few more for that myself. They are nice to look at, good conversation pieces and create a nice ambient glow. Those attributes combined with the fact that they may possibly provide health benefits for my family and I cant see not getting a few to distribute around the home.

UPDATE 8/10/2016: This was seriously a great purchase. Everyone who visits me asks me where I got it and comments on how much they love it. I have it in my kitchen, where it stays on constantly. I have hardly turned it off since May and it's still going strong. It livens up a dark corner of my kitchen, adding warmth and coziness to the space. This product arrived whole, functional, and pre-assembled. It is actually much more shapely and of higher quality than I anticipated! The lightswitch on the cord is also of superior quality, and has an adjustable dimmer dial with 360 degrees of brightness. Of course, the hotter the bulb gets, the more salt is dispersed into the room. The more humid the room, the more cleansing the salt becomes. I believe these lamps work on the same principle as ordinary saline: our bodies contain salt and water; together, this mixture is called "saline" which our body likes better since....well... that's what we're made of; when the salt from the lamp combines with the natural humidity in the air, it creats a salinated atmosphere, this making it easier to breathe and possibly - POSSIBLY-- inhibiting mold spores or other allergens. Either way, it appears to have mild deodorizing properties, in the same way that pouring salt down the garbage disposal also quells or neutralizes foul odors. Overall, regardless of the magic or science behind this beautiful and natural lamp, it has great Feng Shui, especially in the South, Northeast, Southwest, West, or Northwest areas of the home. It gives one a sense of natural surroundings and comfort. The price and delivery time were excellent.

Recently I saw the salt lamp at a the four seasons spa. It had a very nice ambiance in the room and was soothing. Not sure about the actual health benefits but I bought it for the ambiance only. I plugged it in and its is very nice. It may be too big for my bedroom and I would recommend a smaller size. Like many of the other reviewers, the bulb blew in less than 4 hours on the first use and tripped the breaker. Sigh... I purchased a package of 4w nightlight light bulbs and am going to give it a try again. The lamp turned back on as soon as I changed the bulb. Im hoping the bulb was just of poor quality because if not, I guess I'm stuck with it since I tossed out the packaging. ***UPDATED*** After replacing the bulb with the lower wattage nightlight bulb I have had no problems. The stone is not warm to the touch - it was HOT with the bulb that came with it and I assume the bulb wattage is too large for the enclosed space. Do yourself a favor and spend the $2.99 on a 4 pack of nightlight bulbs and don't even turn it on with the bulb that comes with it. Other than that, the lamp is really nice.

I am so pleased with the customer service at WBM Himalayan. I ordered the salt lamp expecting it to be an amber color and to actually throw some light into the room as the one I bought a couple years ago does. I was so disappointed when I plugged in what appeared to be a beautiful (although much darker) lamp to only have a few blotches of deep red show up and it emitted no light into the surrounding area. Not at all what I had hoped for. I tried it for a few nights but was still so disappointed I decided to contact the company to see if I could exchange it. I received a quick response and after a couple exchanges they offered to replace or refund the product. I asked for a replacement as long as I could be assured a brighter lamp. They came through with a lamp that is exactly what I had hoped for! And I was very relieved that I didn't even have to send the other one back because I was so worried about wrapping it back up again properly so that it wouldn't break in transit. I have really been enjoying my new lamp and plan to make use of the first one as more of an "air purifier" than a lamp for ambiance. I would recommend this company to anyone, as well as their beautiful lamps!

I ordered two, one for my mother’s hallway and one for her bedroom. I was at first very discouraged as one of these lamps did not have a bulb and the other that did wouldn’t turn on. I opened it up to see that it was corroded inside. I immediately called the customer service and they referred me to their email to send the pictures to. I have yet to receive a response from any of the two messages I have sent as I had followed up with them after not hearing from them in a week. So I changed out the bulb from the one that was in the package to the one that didn’t have one and I have to admit it is quite lovely as it is adjustable for the lighting and has a beautiful aesthetic. However, I was very disappointed with customer service on this.

I love these lamps. I have 4 of them in my house so far, and so far, all of the are a deep orange in color. Although I can't personally say that they affect air quality, I do love them as night lights. The color is very relaxing, and as a night light, the lighting is subdued. Even if they don't work for air purification, I can't imagine being without them now that I have them. If they do work for air purification, this would be another plus. UPDATE 4/13/16 I have a larger 11" lamp in my family room for a few months that I could sometimes smell a doggy odor in the carpet from my dog. I hadn't thought about it, but I haven't smelled this odor in my family room in a while. As an ionizer, dust and pollutants should fall out of the air. Personally, I have never had a problem with dust falling on furniture, but I have noticed that I don't see teeny particles in the air when the sun shines through the window. This is something you will never see unless you have a window that the sun beams in.
