simple to install and this is a replacement for my last one which lasted 11 years! It sits in my dusty workshop and does not give false alarms, but when a smoke was detected it worked. My go to smoke detector.

There are a lot of $12 smoke alarms on Amazon, this one cost about $30, but what a difference. It feels sturdier and comes with clear instructions. I believe this will be more reliable should it ever need to alert.Unlike many that claim a ten year life, I really believe this one will last a decade. It also mounts very easily. One good feature is that at the end of its life or should you wish to discard it, there's a switch that permanently silences it. That's useful when you can't remover the battery.

Easy to set up, battery is self-contained and it doesn't have to be replaced for 10 years.

Easy to install and a great value! Only comment is regarding the mounting plate/bracket. The issue was the mounting plate only had holes in it for the larger electrical boxes with 4-1/2” spacing. My smoke detectors were all wired through standard single gang switch boxes with 4” hole spacing. The mounting plate had barely enough room for me to drill holes to allow it to be mounted.

I purchased 7 of these smoke detectors 3 years ago. This one that is pictured started chirping after having it for 3 years. The hush button wasn't working, so I had to disable it. I probably just got a faulty one and re-ordered a replacement.

I was told that these alarms were the best to get. I did not know when I ordered that the alarms I had were disabled probably because they kept chirping. So I was glad I bought this. It won't work until you put the back on and I had a hard time doing it. But I got it finally, tested it, and it works. It will work for 10 years which is a long time. It does not fit on my old wall fixture so I just set it on a table. I will take it with me if I move. It is supposed to be the most sensitive alarm. It is bright green and looks nice. I like that it has a button to disable the alarm. It only chirps when the battery runs out. Over all, it is a worry free alarm.

I bought this to replace the same product whose battery life had come to an end. I love the fact that it has long lasting batteries and I don’t have to be changing batteries once a year.
