Tasty - tender and moist but too expensive!
The chocolate cakes are very tasty! They're very tender and moist - unlike other gluten free cakes/muffins I've had which have been dry and dense. The only downside is the price. Almost $37 for 8 packs of 2 cupcakes each is really steep. And now, since they're not available for Prime shipping, the cost is an additional $12. As much as I like the product, the cost is just prohibitive. Very depressing as it's difficult to find foods that are BOTH gluten-free and sugar-free! I guess I'll just have to break down and get the monk fruit sweetener that can be used in baking and start experimenting on my own...BUMMER!

Delicious, but the price is unpalatable.
First and foremost, the cakes are actually quite delicious. They're fluffy and chocolatey and moist. They're not as dense as real cake, but compared to some other low carb alternatives I've had, I have learned lighter might be better than more dense when it comes to cake.There is a slight aftertaste to these products. I have struggled to fully put my finger on what it is though it is a familiar taste. I *think* the taste is from the oat fiber blend they use. Either way, the aftertaste is mild and not a deal breaker.I find the cost really off-putting, honestly. I find it a bit unscrupulous to charge so much for a product that caters to the health-conscious market. Also, I don't like having them bundled as two packs but the nutritional information is only for half the package.So, taste-wise, they're wonderful. Will I buy them again? Maybe. But I will probably try to seek out a more affordable source first.

Not worth the money or 38 calories a cupcake!
Do not like this flavor at all! Doesn’t even remotely taste like chocolate to me! But for dark chocolate lovers, maybe... Very gummy consistency. Love the coconut cakes though. I count sugar in my diet, so I thought if I wanted something sweet, this would be a great choice. Try the coconut flavored cakes instead. Just saying’.

buyer beware - mine were moldy
I liked the taste of the first one pair. I had them in the fridge just because they probably have ingredients in them that need refrigerated. But as I ate them (not daily, mind you), they didn't seem as good as they had before. Today, I opened my next to last package (they're packed in pairs) and the one wasn't bad - but the other - yuck! I can't get a refund thanks to Amazon's return policy - but they are not out of date - so I don't know who to complain to besides an open forum, so maybe someone else won't have the same luck I did. I tossed them - and probably won't ever get them again.Oh, I ordered them Nov 18, so it's been under the 120 days they'd be good, and I kept them in the fridge - and just looked to see if that might have been why they went bad, but no - their website states:"At only 38 calories per Smartcake they are Beyond Gluten Free. They have 5 grams of fiber, 4 grams of protein and still manage to taste great with No sugar and No starch.Smartcake Recommended Storage: Shelf stable in a dry area at less than 80 degrees Fahrenheit for 120 days or you can freeze them for up to one year. If you live in a humid area, you may wish to refrigerate them for freshness."

These taste really good! After being in nutritional ketosis for a couple of month and not really craving sweets anymore, I tried these and will order more. A little bit crumbly and messy to eat, but very good!

Just ok taste PLUS very expensive
My wife requested I order this has it had been touted at her Weight-Watchers meeting.Not much chocolate flavor - had what I thought was a weird texture. Flavor not horrible but not chocolate either, My wife was disappointed in this as she loves chocolate and was hoping this could help with her chocolate daily 'fix'.She termed this a big 'fail'.I would rate this a disappointing (at least when the cost is considered) product - would rate this a 6.5 to 7.0 out of 10 - we will not be reordering this.

Huge amount of sodium/fat grams!
I thought these products were healthy. I ate a few of them....liked them...then read the nutrition information: 95 GRAMS of sodium????? I thought it was a misprint. I did not taste the salt at first....but now I can.

A Delicious Surprise!
I heard about Smart Cakes in a Weight Watchers group on Facebook and decided to give them a try. Boy, am I glad I did! I cut right to the chase and got a box of the chocolate cakes! Delicious! A game changer! I shared some with my Mother who is also doing Weight Watchers as an Easter present. Her reaction was the same! We have a no guilt dessert!!! Our next box will be the coconut!
