Looked around for a solid, heavy, nicely polished set of chess pieces, and finally stumbled upon these. I was a bit hesitant to purchase it, but once they arrived, I was pleasantly surprised at how nice they were. The presentation is delightfully appropriate and premium. One thing to note is the box is rather large - considering the pieces are fairly big too. Just as in the photos, they do "shine" as well. I must say that they are in fact weighted - just the right amount I was hoping for. Each piece comes with a nice felt at the bottom, and their own little cut out within the box so you can store them there after a game or safely move them about. All in all, if you're looking for a quality set of chess pieces to add to your collection or combine with your board, they'll make an excellent addition. For the player that wants to add heft and that extra " oomph" to their games.

First off I was pissed. I mistaken the box the pieces came in to be a complete game including a foldable board which I didn't want. I was wrong. Yep, I can admit it. Opening the very nice box I found inside two large black foams with each piece snug in there niches. To be honest, this is the nicest tournament set I've ever owned. The weight and feel are perfect. There's a slight gloss that gives them a rich look. I now prefer this set over wooden ones I paid over 3 times as much from USCF.

This item was as expected, but... ...and I did not take off for this because I have no intention on storing this or moving around, the storage box is hard to use, though it works better than those cheap bags. The box is so snug it is hard to get the pieces out. Once i did, I have no intention on putting them back. This is a great item, and at first, I was concerned about getting pieces that were not wood, but these are perfectly balanced, and they look like they will last. I even dropped one, and it did not scrape or break. It's worth the price -though I don't know what the price will be when you read this

I have been a serious chess player for over 40 years. This chess set is not for kids. It is the most beautifully finished set I have ever seen. The weighting is outstanding, but I have a preference for heavy pieces, so I'm a little biased. Also, the packaging blew me away. Each piece was tucked down into a piece of styrofoam specifically cut out to fit that piece. This made shipping the safest and most well protected I have seen. The set is slightly larger than your average tournament set—so, I have a suggestion. Don't use it with a board with 2.25" squares. You might want to find a board with slightly larger squares—like 2.375" squares. Otherwise, this set is perfect! I am very happy with this purchase.

This is a gorgeous set that fits really well on a board I purchased separately. You really need to go for size 6 board with a square size around 2.25in as the pieces are large.

Mein Mann hat sich diese Schachfiguren zum Geburtstag gewünscht. Der Preis ist nicht ohne (meine Meinung) aber mein Mann ist total happy und ist total begeistert von der Verarbeitung, der Form, der Farbe und dem Gewicht der Figuren. Die Figuren waren sehr gut in Schaumstoff verpackt, damit die nicht verkratzen. Die Lieferzeit war schon recht lang. Trotzdem gibt es 5 Sterne weil die Freude über das Geschenk hier so groß war.
