Good casareep
Haven't used yet but looks like good quality to make pepper pot with. It will go along and should keep well. Hard to find locally so glad we got it on hand now.

Not the real casareep
Obviously not authentic casareep from Guyana. The taste and consistency were totally different to real Pomeroon casareep

This same product we ordered last fall. Found product better than the previous. Even packaged better, more secure. Able to create our special meal with no issues.

Changes for the Bad
Every year since my Gran was cooking pepperpot for Christmas, we’ve used this brand of cassareep, and it’s always been a part of warm, cherished memories. Nat King Cole would play, the house would be filled with singing, and as a kid, I’d sneak little dips of cassareep off my finger, only to be lovingly scolded by my Gran. The cassareep was always syrupy and rich—just perfect. Up until last year, it continued to be just as lovely. Unfortunately, this year’s batch felt completely different. It seemed watered down and lacked the signature richness that makes pepperpot special. The flavor and aroma didn’t come through as they usually do, and it threw off the recipe that’s been in my family for generations. I haven’t changed a thing in how I make it, so I’m not sure what might have changed on your end. I hope this was just a one-off issue because I’ve always loved your cassareep and the memories it helps create. I’d really like to see it return to the quality we’ve come to know and love.
