Terrific ideas for both reluctant writers and kids looking to expand their creative writing
I bought this to supplement my writing curriculum for my son who will enter fourth grade in our homeschool in the fall. He is eight years old and a reluctant writer. This book is an idea book - there are no instructions or writing tips - it is like a journal with an idea at the top of the page. This is what I needed for him. Yes, you could probably come up with creative ideas on your own but this saves time and really gears the ideas towards something kids would enjoy writing about. The pages each start with an idea to write about and then you have lines to write on. I will use loose paper for the actual writing in order to use the book with my younger son or even reuse the ideas once the 8 year old gets older. I think this book is a great resource to supplement a reading program or to do extra projects with your kids if they go to school. I love the creative ideas that are in the book - the ideas make writing less of a chore for the kids out there who may not love writing or for the kids who love writing and want to explore more with creativity. I would recommend this book.

Funny prompts and great to get kids (or yourself!) writing.
This is a big book- which goes with its title - just a heads up. :) The prompts are short and funny, then there's lots of blank space to write your response. There are usually a few prompts per page. My daughter loves writing (age 10) and enjoys this book a lot. She likes to do it with her friends too, and they make up funny stories together, usually trying to write through bursts of giggles. Even K like to join in sometimes; it brings out your inner silly kid if you let it. :) I personally think it would be good for kids who don't like writing too, because the topics are generally quite silly. ;)

FUN prompts! An essential classroom tool for free writing.
I'm a middle school English teacher who starts out my class with Sacred Writing Time (http://corbettharrison.com/SWT.htm). There's always a kid who doesn't have an idea that particular day, and this book is invaluable help for those kids. The book is at the front of the room, and kids know they can walk up and peruse it to get an idea. It only takes a moment because the prompt are diverse, creative, and inspiring. Some kids combine one or two ideas together. They always lead to unique, interesting writing. It takes the pressure off to come up with a good idea every day. Highly recommended as a class tool for young writers!

Need Teacher Edition
This book has a lot of great creative writing ideas, and some good narrative topics. The creative ideas are really wonderful. The narrative topics are generally what I have seen in most writing idea books .As a teacher, I would love to have a teacher's edition with:a listing of all the topics divided by categories - creative, narrative, expository, informativeand PAGE NUMBERS ! This could just be a smaller edition without the journaling pages or as a table of contents in the front of the current book. I ended up hand numbering all the pages - lol! I think the above suggestions would be a great addition to the book and or a great separate teacher's edition.

These 'to write about books' are great!
I have used this book for an improv class, but ordered copies of this one to give out to some teens and they loved them. It's just a book of prompts, some may say, but in fact these prompts really open up discussions, get the brain flowing and inspire people to get some words on a page. Great for writer's block and for getting teens to discuss things they wouldn't normally discuss. Really love these books.

Easy, fun, interesting and entertaining. Perfect for fussy writers.
An excellent supplemental book especially for the ‘less than enthusiastic writers’. The topics are both exciting and diverse and there are many to choose from. The writing spaces are a bit small, especially for kids who’s handwriting are on the larger side, like my daughters’. I suggest use the space for mind mapping or story plans and have them use a separate note book for the actual essay. Very happy with this product!

Original prompts and perfect for kid writers
I purchased this for my 10 year old who spends all her free time drawing and writing stories. She loves the writing prompts and filled out several pages in the evening as soon as she received it. They are original prompts and very kid friendly. Highly recommend for the little writer in your life!

Amazing and clever idea to establish daily writing habits in kids!
So glad I bought this! My daughter is sometimes put off by having to write long stories. Or starts but doesn't finish them as she has many ideas but gets tired putting them all on paper. This book is AMAZING and such a great idea! It's literally packed with an impressive collection of writing prompts designed to spark anyone's imagination. It features thought-provoking and diverse prompts, ranging from imaginative scenarios to introspective questions - so there is something for any mood and any effort level. Each prompt is presented in a clear and concise manner, providing ample space for young writers to pen down their ideas and try out different writing styles.Ironically, my daughter now goes beyond the available writing space and continues on her own paper. It's a very clever idea!Highly recommended for anyone looking to really challenge their writing and push boundaries with ideas!
