Zildjian Reflexx Conditioning Practice Pad-6" (ZXPPRCP06)

I wanted one for a while but it is very pricey. I finally bought it when I was given too many gift cards and I money to burn.First it is extremely quiet on the rebound side. It can be loud when you accent or play harder, but it is the quietest pad I have ever owned when just tapping at low velocity. I can tap on it while talking in the same room as my wife and (most of the time) it does not bother her.The work surface has some rebound but you really have to use good technique or it will play like a dead surface. This side is louder, comparable to other pads on the normal surface. Not quite as loud as my Evans Real Feel. The first few times that I did focused rudiments (attempting to work out) my hands and forearms were actually sore the next day. A few months after purchase I am still able to get to a speed that causes the muscles to burn, though thankfully no more post work out soreness.I think this is a great tool. A little too high priced, but the quality of the product is outstanding and attractive. It looks cool and you feel cool using it. I do not regret the purchase.

Been wanting one of these for a while now since I found my tom double and triple stroke rolls could use some improvement and I like the idea of actually getting a workout in on a pad… using muscles I may not normally use. I have a handful of pads and while most closer emulate a high tuned snare, I don’t always tune my snares high so I notice an immediate difference in feel going from a pad to a drum so this pad will force me to enhance the core of my rolls.I like the feel of both sides but prefer the “work” side or less responsive side and I saved $30 purchasing this from Amazon so I couldn’t be happier. Assuming it was a return because the foam on the flex side is missing a small chunk of foam along the edge which appears to be how it was made, but I don’t see it becoming an issue in the future as long as I be mindful of the edges to begin with.I’ve noticed after using this pad my speed has increased on a traditional rubber pad only after a short while which is pretty cool.

I like the size and feel of this It has a super quiet almost zero rebound work side and then the other side still has definitely reduced rebound but is also still super quiet. It feels high quality and I actually really like it a lot.The only thing I don't like about this is the product definitely smells but I'm hoping in a few days that won't exist anymore

A two action double pad I use for accent and rebound practice. It’s pretty quiet and very useful. My only complaint was putting up with the solvent fumes emanating until I finally let it sit outside for a few days.

Good rebound on the harder side and allows me to practice on the road on in my office, during down time. Soft side is quiet and works great as well, but you do lose some action on the sticks.

After seeing Mike Johnston's 'review' of the original Reflexx pad I was immediately interested, as I was looking for something more versatile than my Evans RealFeel (which don't get me wrong, is a great pad, just limited). I was a little concerned about:1) Zildian acquiring Reflexx, though they claim the Zildjian version of the pad is identical to the original Reflexx pad2) Price, holy cow $100+ for some foam and a plastic ring?But honestly, the Zildjian Reflexx is perfect for what I was looking for! The 'conditioning' side kills ~75% of the bounce and really forces finger work. The 'regular' side has some bounce but is still less bouncy than the Evans Real Feel. Now I have 4 levels of bounce between both pads - the Reflexx for hardcore finger conditioning/exercise and the Evans to warmup before switching to my vkit (Roland VAD 506).

I’ve been drumming for 42 years. I’ve used and have owned more drum pads than I can remember. I can honestly say this is possibly the best practice pad I’ve used. Most pads seem to want to mimic concert or marching snare drum feel meaning a tight very responsive rebound. That can be fine for articulation but for real world drum set playing, it doesn’t crossover very well. Being a 2 sided pad, you get a “dead” side to work the little muscle groups and wrist technique and the “rebound” side which is the perfect amount of rebound to mimic a Tom or medium tuned snare. Definitely a better real word feel. You can cheat yourself if you get too much rebound which most pads do. This pad is perfect and my favorite pad I own. Prologix is a really good pad too with different rebound characteristics depending on the color.This pad will get you what you want. Believe me.

5 stars for the functionality of of this pad. Both sides are great, especially the 'workk' side, it's phenomenal. I've noticed changes within weeks of using this. Definitely worth it for any level drummer.However, the 6 inch version is very wobbly. Every surface I've put this on so far, it has shifted around everywhere. I'm not a hard hitter either. When I play it softer it's usually never a problem, but as soon as I start playing at a higher dynamic level it starts bouncing around. Maybe a pad stand would nullify that issue, but so far just putting it on any flat surface can be annoying at times. Other than that, I don't have any problems with this pad and would highly recommend it.

As mentioned by other reviews, the adhesive is not good enough. One of the foam/rubber pads lifted off after a week. Very disappointing as playing-wise it is excellent. Poor build quality for such an expensive item.Edit: I’ve now had three of these. All have the same issue.

I bought this pad 6 weeks ago and the rubber comes already off. Zildjian has done a very disappointing job there. Can not recommend it!

Mi sono chiesto il perché per diverso tempo, poi ho deciso finalmente di provarlo.Premetto che ho una sfilza di pad invidiabili, dai diversi Prologix (eccezionali), al vecchio evans real feel, al movement drum co. , senza dimenticare il meinl marshmallow.Insomma i pad non mi mancavano ma cercavo un prodotto compatto che mi permettesse di sviluppare una maggiore forza muscolare, e questo è adatto alle mie esigenze. Due infatti sono i prodotti di maggiore qualità per il caso menzionato: Prologix Blackout pad e il Reflexx. Ho voluto cambiare brand e sono stato piacevolmente colpito dalla utilità di questo pad. La parte Workk è priva di rimbalzo, mentre la parte Flexx presenta un rimbalzo maggiore, ma ricordate che è sempre un prodotto destinato a chi vuole davvero allenare la forza muscolare. Per intenderci non ha il rimbalzo di un tamburo autentico.Consiglio l'acquisto ai professionisti e ai semi-professionisti.PS il prezzo (trovato a 92€) è giustificabile dal fatto che oggigiorno in media un singolo pad buono costa tra i 45/50 €; se considerate la doppia superficie si arriva alla cifra proposta.
