It works..kinda
Obviously we are early in VR and only Sony has a custom holder which is why I find it off this isn't bespoke for the vive and oculus but that's fine. The issue I have is when using an oculus you have to leave the back... Piece off the unit otherwise the hmd doesn't fit. There is also no place to hold the controllers and worst of all the base doesn't weight a thing so it's very easy to just knock over. Using lightweight plastics makes sense in a cell phone holder. It doesn't make sense for something meant to help protect a $600+ VR headset.Back to the controllers...I said it wasn't important but it is. Both major devices have wrist strap so even a simple place to hang them would suffice but this unit does have one...This unit will do until a better one comes along. Ultimately we are going to need licensed accessories if we don't want our super expensive equipment a mess. Sony knew this and has one ready so thunbs up to them there.

The universal VR stand is the best consumer stand currently out, simply because there are no other stands availableOutside of homemade stands you could buy on eBay this is the only one I could findPros:Easy to assemble, I had it ready to use in five minutes after opening, all pieces slide on ornsnao together, and show a secure and tight fit.Sleek design, the stand looks nice with the headset mounted, the company logo provides a cool/stylish way to display your VR headset.Use, the stand nicely fits my htc vive, the ability to wrap the cords around the back make it convenient, and compact, doing the job that any VR user needed for the stand.Cons:Only one, as other users have mentioned, there is no weight to the base, it's made out of the same durable plastic as the other parts, and thus is to light to support at least the htc Vive on its own. However with the cords wrapped around the back the counterbalance holds the headset in place.Overall: A solid stand that provides a cool way to display/store your headset and cords, while the light weight can prove troublesome, simply wrapping the cords in the back provides a good counterbalance.I hope for a future version with a weighted base, however I am currently satisfied with the stand.4/5

A Nice Looking VR Headset Stand.
It's a good quality stand that I would recommend to someone looking to hold a VR Headset. It makes for an exciting display that you can put your controllers/wands near.I would improve two things though:1 - The base has almost no weight to it, and will likely lean forward with a heavier headset, like a Vive. This can be counterbalanced by placing/wrapping the wires around the lower back end.2 - The top span should have been made adjustable! I have an average size head and therefore should not have to drastically loosen my VR straps in order to make it easily fit onto the stand. If the base had more weight and the upper span was adjustable, I would think this would be a #1 seller; but even as it is, it makes for a very nice stand. I'd recommend it, even with its imperfections.

Get it if you are on a budget.
It does its job but just seems cheap compared to the headset you place on it.
