Very Flimsy and not Instant Read. Broke with 2nd use.
This thermometer is not "instant read." It was very awkward to use as a candy thermometer, with no way to attach it to the pan I had to try to hold it with one hand while stirring with the other, and trying to keep it off the bottom of the pan. I might have kept it for a meat thermometer had it not broken when I was trying to wipe it clean. It was very flimsy. It's not worth the postage and trouble to repackage it to return it, so I just threw it in the trash and bought a (better) thermometer at the store for less than I paid for this one.

Easy to read and use, Great cleanup!
I purchased this meat thermometer to replace my old school thermometer that seems to always give inaccurate readings. So far, I really like this thermometer. There is a nice long probe, which is great for using to try to get to a variety of foods or awkward angles. The clean-up has been pretty easy so far for me as well, you can just wipe it down with hot soapy water. Cleaning my other “old school” thermometers was where this usually broke down. I have not tried to put it in the dishwasher yet, nor am I sure if these are supposed to be dishwasher safe. I would imagine not, due to the intricacies of the thermometer. My husband also likes this thermometer because he can use it when grilling to check the temperature of the meat. The long probe helps tremendously to avoid his arm burning up, and so far he has gotten fairly quick, accurate readings. Overall, we are pleased with this purchase.I received this item at a discount from the manufacturer or a seller to objectively test and review it, but received no payment and have no obligation to offer anything other than my real opinion based on my experience. Amazon's "Verified Purchase" indicator shows that this review matches an actual product ordered and delivered from Amazon. I have been working recently to try to write detailed reviews based on my actual experience with these products, as a wife and mom in her late 30’s. If you have found this review helpful, I’d love if you’d indicate that below. This would help me greatly to know if I am making a difference with the effort to write better reviews, and be a better member of the Amazon community of buyers.

Pretty good Thermometer overall
This sucker seems to work pretty well, is very accurate and overall is a great tool. Just be careful when using with a lot of moisture as it will invade the electronics and you will have to dry it out.I was using an an AGAR solution waiting for it to reach the pour temp and the steam\ moisture coming from the agar invaded the electronics and shut down the thermometer. it worked fine after drying it out but it is something to be concerned about. No I did NOT submerge it, just the steam \ off gassing of moisture in a flash neck caused it to shut down.Pro:works wellaccurate (so far as compared to more expensive instruments)Con:Too much moisture will cause it to shut down.

Decent digital thermometer...takes a bit for the temperature reading to get to the actual temperature
The 3CSmart Instant Read Thermometer arrived very quickly from the seller in professional packaging. The package included a single digital food thermometer that is approximately 9 inches overall with a roughly 6-inch probe. Additionally, there was a set of instructions in English and Chinese. The thermometer and instructions arrived in a plastic tube intended for display for sale or for shipping; however, the tube may work well as a storage tube to prevent any of the buttons from being pressed while in the drawer. The display is a standard LCD display and has 4 buttons (F/C, On/Off, Hold, Max/Min Temp). Operation is very simple, you simply hit the on/off button and insert the probe into whatever you want to determine the temperature of. I used it last night to cook some salmon and it would take about 20-30 seconds to get a final reading. One thing I noticed and is not a huge deal, but annoying, is that it defaults to Celcius. I will have to play with it to see if there is a way to change the default. The thermometer automatically powers off after about 2-3 minutes of inactivity, which is odd since the description states it shuts off after 10 minutes. I did not get a chance to check out the max/min temperature setting, but will likely check it out later. Didn't really see a need to figure out what the minimum temperature of my cooking salmon was.The thermometer comes with a battery pre-installed, but a new one can easily be changed out if necessary. Per the description, it takes a single LR44 watch-type battery. One thing to remember when using this thermometer is that you want to make sure if you are measuring something while it is still on the pan from the oven if you are cooking in the oven that the probe does not touch the pan while you are measuring the food temperature; otherwise, you may get a false reading since it is attempting to measure the food and the pan temperature, which is definitely going to be hotter than the food.All-in-all, this is a decent thermometer and is a welcomed replacement to the good ol non-digital thermometer I have been using for years. We will see how this holds up and I will update if there are any issues.
