SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless: My Upgrade from the G502 Wired
I’ve been a Logitech G502 wired fan for years (I had 3 previously and went through 1). That hefty, tweakable mouse was my go-to for gaming and pretty much everything else. Lately, though, I’ve been curious about going wireless—less clutter, more freedom. I picked up the SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless, and honestly, I was a little worried about how it’d stack up, especially with response time. Turns out, I had nothing to stress about—it’s awesome. Here’s why I’m loving it.Wireless Life: No Lag WorriesComing from the G502, I was hooked on how instant it felt with the cable. I didn’t want a wireless mouse to mess that up, especially for fast games like Valorant. The Aerox 3’s 2.4 GHz mode and TrueMove Air sensor totally deliver, though. Clicks land quick, movements are spot-on—no delay at all. It feels just as sharp as my old wired setup. Bluetooth’s handy for casual stuff, but 2.4 GHz is where it shines for gaming. I was overthinking it—this thing’s great.Weight: So Light, So NiceThe G502 was heavy—around 120 grams with weights—and I didn’t mind it. Then I tried the Aerox 3 at 68 grams, and wow, what a difference. It’s so light I wasn’t sure at first, but now I love how easy it is to move. My wrist feels way less tired after long sessions, and those honeycomb cutouts keep it cool and comfy. It took a minute to get used to, but I’m sold on lighter mice now.Built Tough with a Splash of ProtectionMy G502 took a beating and kept going, so I wondered if this slimmer mouse could handle me. It’s sturdier than I expected—no creaky flex, and the clicks are rated for 80 million presses, so it’s in it for the long haul. The IP54 water and dust resistance is a huge plus, too. I’ve had a few close calls with drinks near my desk, and it’s nice knowing a little spill won’t ruin it. It’s tough in all the right ways. How It Looks and FeelsThe Aerox 3’s got this neat perforated design—RGB lights peek through the holes, giving it a sleek, almost see-through look. It’s a lot flashier than the G502’s bulky style, and I’m into it. It’s smaller, better for claw or fingertip grips, which was an adjustment after the G502’s big shape. But it glides super smooth with those PTFE feet, and at 68 grams, it’s effortless to use. Battery life’s solid (200 hours on Bluetooth, 80 on 2.4 GHz), and the USB-C cable’s nice and soft. Only downside? No spot for the dongle, but I can live with that.Wrap-UpSwitching from the G502 wired to the Aerox 3 Wireless was a leap, but I’m so happy I took it. No lag to fuss over, it’s crazy light, built to last, and that water resistance is a lifesaver. For Prime day deal of $67 bucks, it’s a steal. If you’re nervous about going wireless, don’t be—this mouse has it all covered.

Amazing!
- Shape & MaterialThis mouse is two times as expensive as the Razer Mamba Wireless. I loved the shape of the Mamba. It fits the hand so well. Now with the Aerox 3, the shape doesn't fill the palm that well, but its matte texture is on point. I prefer a smooth or lightly textured finish on larger mouses and a matte finish on smaller mouses. The matte finish on this mouse makes up for the flat form.- Battery LifeThe battery life on this device is much better than Mamba Wireless. I hated having to charge the Mamba Wireless every two or three days. That mouse always runs out of battery when I'm editing a video or working. So, this mouse is a lifesaver for me.- WeightI could immediately tell how light the mouse is when I picked up the Amazon package. It almost felt like an empty plastic packaging in my hand. I knew it was going to be very light but I didn't imagine it to be this light. Mindblowing!- SwitchesThe mechanical switches feel just as solid as the Rival 650, which is another mouse that I really like from SteelSeries.I have nothing to complain about this mouse. It completely exceeded my expectations for it. This is my first superlight mouse. I haven't tried the G Pro X Superlight yet so I can't tell if the Logitech alternative is any better. For now I'm really happy with the purchase.

The media could not be loaded. Love it works great. When not in use or on standby it gos to sleep. When battery is low it will flash red, and flash green when done. I love the colors and it's lighter than my old mouse. I been using steelseries for 14 years and this new model is amazing

The media could not be loaded. The mouse itself isn’t bad. Compared to my “OEM” wired mouse this thing WIEGHS NOTHING. The size of the mouse in my opinion is a tad bit small. Again compared to my wired mouse it’s about 20-25% smaller I could more or less use my whole hand on the wired one and I use mostly my fingertips to use/hold this one. I can put my whole hand on it it just feels really weird. One thing I have seen and DO NOT get or like is why every now and then when my mouse goes to sleep whether it’s because the pc is off or I just haven’t used it in over 5 minutes it has to RECONNECT TO BLUETOOTH. If it’s battery has ran out or I haven’t used it in like more than 8 hours or sometimes even just randomly I have to RESET MY MOUSE AND RECONNECT IT MANUALLY. IT IS RIDICULOUS. There was about a week where this happened to me forcing me to use the 2.4 dongle and cable until I trouble shot it and figured out to reset it. Even in the GG steelseries app YOU CANNOT RECONNECT IT VIA BLUETOOTH. it just says unavailable or unconnected and not in range. However the mouse will be searching for a connection and then give up for whatever reason because it could not reestablish the connection. The Steelseries app itself has its ups and downs. I’ve had it already due to the artic nova 7s I have so this mouse just connected right away to the app. Simple. HOWEVER I’m not sure if it’s me or I’m not understanding the light modes I CANNOT CHANGE MY LIGHTING ON THE MOUSE. It’s set to one of the presets but does the same light animations despite changing it in the app. Bluetooth or dongle I feel like the changes you make to the mouse don’t apply OTHER than the DPI setting. The DPI settings are great. You can change from 5 presets using the mouse button below the scroll wheel or you can adjust it up to 16,000 manually. Just remember to save it and apply it. The mouse feel (bare wood desk yes I’m a monster I have a desk mat just don’t use it right now) is surprisingly good. The stock feet or skates are extremely smooth and slippery. I have noticed at times I can feel either dirt, debris, and or sweat and dust after some long gaming sessions or if the desk hasn’t been dusted or cleaned on the skates of the mouse. I don’t think it affects the mouse itself much however it does bug me (you) and it is noticeable. The mouse clicks are relatively queit for a mouse. I haven’t heard an obnoxiously loud mouse click in a long while. I will say from going from having 5-7 extra programmable mouse buttons to just two does kinda suck and takes some readjusting however if you’re like me and BARELY use them except for the one time you accidentally press it or panic melee you won’t really notice the difference. As far as game play goes I haven’t noticed any issues or differences. It is still a mouse and does it job I will say the one thing that you might have to get used to is how light it is compared to your old mouse and maybe the higher or lower DPI you have it set at. Other than that like I stated does it’s job. Oh! Battery life isn’t all that bad either. If I’m gaming all day like on the weekend I can go about a day and a half to two days on one charge. If I’m just using my mouse to change YouTube videos it’ll last up words of up to like 5-7 days depending on how much a move it. Annnnndddd in the video you’ll see the Bluetooth connection issue. Fantastic.
