WORTH THE PRICE
Still Breaking in the Subwoofer..... SO FAR THIS SUBWOOFER BANGS!!!! have this Sub Paired with a Skar 1500.1 mono block @ 1 OHM 🤯. Sounds GREAT!! Hits the lows and my black glass flexes. Co workers hear me from down the block! Going from 2 12"s to just 1 I was worried..Sounds better then my 2 subwoofers combined. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND ( BREAK IT IN CORRECTLY AND WIRE IT RIGHT) won't be disappointed!

Powerful Bass Potential for the Right Setup
I recently installed the Skar Audio EVL-65 D2 6.5" 400 Watt subwoofer in my 2015 Lexus CT200h factory subwoofer box, and although I'm not experiencing its full potential, I can still appreciate its capabilities. Please note that my review is based on my specific setup limitations, but I believe this speaker has great potential when paired with the right amplifier. First and foremost, the installation process was a breeze. The speaker fit perfectly in my factory subwoofer box, making it a seamless upgrade. The build quality of the Skar Audio EVL-65 D2 is evident, with its sturdy construction and durable components. It is clear that this speaker is built to last. Now, onto the sound. Due to the limitations of my car's factory amplifier, I'm only able to hear a fraction of the bass that this speaker is capable of producing. However, I believe the issue lies with my car's power output rather than the speaker itself. Despite the limited bass response, I can still perceive the potential that lies within the Skar Audio EVL-65 D2. Considering the value for money, this speaker offers a solid investment. While I'm unable to fully exploit its capabilities, I recognize that it is designed for enthusiasts who are seeking powerful and deep bass. If you have a compatible amplifier that can provide the necessary power, I believe this speaker will truly shine and deliver an exceptional audio experience. In summary, the Skar Audio EVL-65 D2 is a well-built and impressive subwoofer, despite my current setup limitations. Its easy installation and durable construction make it a great choice for car audio enthusiasts. While I can't provide a comprehensive review of its sound quality, I am confident that with the appropriate amplifier, this speaker will deliver outstanding bass performance. I would definitely consider purchasing the Skar Audio EVL-65 D2 again, but next time, I will ensure that my audio system can fully unleash its potential.

Reminds me of the old VVX series!!!
Ok, so I want to start off by saying that skar still needs to make harder dust caps, like kevlar at least because they are pretty soft. Thats really the only negative thing about this sub. This review is technically for the VVX 8 I had as well as the EVL 10. My EVL 10 reminds me of the old VVX series subs! I had a VVX 8" on a crappy planet audio amp that absolutely killed the lows!! It took a beating-like a HARD beating for 3 years. My drives were long, 25-30 mins sometimes 40. It nonstop took everything i threw at it. And it sounded AMAZING. Fast foward to when I got a new truck, new job, and upgraded the system to an RP 800.1 D. For 4 months that VVX took waaaaay over its rated power (somewhere around 600 RMS, was giving an easy 1k @ 1ohm). Drives were 50 minutes one way. 2 times a day, 5 days a week. The sub took it ALL. And the only thing that broke was one of the spiders ripped itself off the former! Glue stayed on it! It sounded horrible unfortunately and when i took the coil out, it was only kinda discolored. Insane. It was built super well, too. A single, hard, dense steel mesh bolted to the basket with the motor mounting bolts kept the coil gap safe. BIG a** triple stack monster motor. Cast basket. Nice soft foam surround, paper cone, polypropylene dust cap, etc. Beat the ZVX 8 I got after it (same RP 800.1, not the sundown 2k) died in a week. A 600 RMS DC m3 8: dead in 3 weeks at less than 400 RMS. (SAME POWER RATINGS somehow??) Now, the EVL 10. What. A. Monster. The sub is so heavy for its size! And its an absolute animal. Its giving my Sundown 2k monoblock a run for its money!! Yes, my SAE v.3 is at 3/4 gain (no bass boost on the deck, or any other device, flat eq on my phone) and the sub eats it up!! Wired to 2 ohms because i have stock alt and battery. RIP. Plus I think it helps reduce any weird distortion or other signals (someone correct me on that) and improves sound quality. 1/0 welding cable for power. 12 guage Monster cable for speaker wire. Its in a Q-Bomb box behind the passenger seat of my 2010 f150 and it shakes everything hahaha!!! The sound it produces is identical to the VVX and thats why I chose to include my review of the VVX in this review. Its built like the VVX, nice basket, soft surround, tough cone, big red spider spider pack which the VVX didnt have, and an American voice coil!! Merica! Oh, and she gets lowwwww and still sounds good doing so. Mint! Overall Im super happy with this peaker and will definitely recommend the EVL over the ZVX as the ZVX did not last long (for me, at least.) 10 stars from me.

Well built lil beasts!
These lil guys can make bass like their bigger siblings, still amazes me. Can't say how they perform in super tiny sealed enclosures, but four with their own airspace slotport style put out as much bass as a 1200 watt RMS 12" in big slotport box on the same power, about 950 watts RMS. I bought mine "used" from Skar, as this is where they sell their returns. They all looked brand new, one had been wired up before, and they all functioned perfectly. Skar has excellent customer service and decent quality products at prices impossible to beat. If you're building system on tight budget check here for used gear, if sold by Skar they usually test before send out and will stand behind their products

Great value
I really don't have anything bad to say about . The build quality is very good given the price point, cast basket, very stout terminals, cone and suspension are very high quality. I built a small .28cf sealed enclosure and filled it with polyfill, dual 2 ohm coils wired in series and ran with 150 watts RMS off of a bridged channel of a Audiocontrol ACX300.4 marine amplifier. Bass output was surprisingly tight with good low end to around 45hz where it started to drop off, what I would expect for a 6.5" in a small sealed enclosure. If you have the room go with a .38 to .45cf ported enclosure, the efficiency would increase and you would get more output in the 45-50hz range. For the value, you can't ask for more. The only reason I gave it a three star ratting for SQ was comparing it to subs like the JL 6W3 and similar subs costing 5 times as much, value it gets five stars.

Class leader
One of the best 8" subs on the market for the price range. But don't order used or you might end up with a lower lever skar sub like I did. Make sure it's skar used and not amazon resale. They sent me a blown and torn $30 skar xi8 in a evl8 box and it took me a month of back and forth with customer service to get my money back. And after all that im still going to order another one because the subs are that good.
