Only time will tell if this replacement holds up better than the lousy battery that came new with the mower. That original battery did the job well and held enough charge to start the mower every two weeks all through that first season. But, after sitting for several months during the winter, it didn't hold enough charge to even crank the mower the first time we tried starting the next spring. Not a big deal since it also has the usual recoil pull starter and we haven't gotten too old yet to use that. But having the key start is nice and having the original battery no longer holding or building much charge after just one year was a disappointment. So, we're eager to see if this one does better. It fits, it cranked the mower instantly the first time I hit the key. Now we'll see how well it holds charge between uses. There are battery maintenance chargers available. But, there is no recharging port on the mower. You have to take apart the battery box to plug the battery into any charger you buy. Just not worth the trouble except during the winter when the mower is not being used for months; especially when there is always the pull rope as backup. Whatever you do, if you buy a charger, buy it here or some place like Harbor Freight Tools where you can get it for under $20. If you look it up on the Honda website, they are asking OVER TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS for it. Has to be a pricing mistake but until they fix it...

It’s too small

ML1.3-12 - 12 Volt 1.3 AH SLA Battery - Mighty Max Battery Brand Product We bought this battery to replace the one in our lawnmower, not in a battery backup UPS as a lot of the applications seem to fit. This was the exact part number on our original one in our self-propelled more, and the battery fit perfectly and works well to start the mower. The original one lasted about 2 years, which I figure is about right considering we live in Florida and it's hot as the Dark Side of Hades down here, considering we get a lot of sun. if you need to replace your original battery, whether it's in a UPS or Mower, and it happens to be this part number give this one a shot. It seems to work just great for us.

I bought this Mighty Max Battery 12 Volt 1.3AH battery after looking into the one Litter Robot sell on their site for $40. The dimensions are very similar and importantly its a 12 volt 1.3 AH battery. The fit is perfect, and was quite easy to install. The attached photos show the little robot 4 after removing the 4 screws (marked in yellow) that cover the motor mechanism. They have instructions on their site, but its dead simple. After unscrewing the cover you can see the wires for the battery. Attach red/positive to positive and black/negative to negative and ensure the terminals are at the rear of the robot, tuck the wire behind the wire holder and screw it back in. This is GREAT value for money for this specific use case, and generally speaking is a good value for a small 12v battery. Given this application, I don't know about battery life or charge rate, this is not something I can measure. For a quarter the price I could replace this more often if needed, but I suspect this will work for several years at a minimum. Solid 5 star product

I use it as a testing battery for projects, I have killed it down to 10v twice and it always charges back up. I froze it for half the winter down to -51c and it still works great. I’ve dead shorted it, ran light bars off of it and lots more. It’s not often that I am truely impressed by a product. High quality, good performance and cheap.
