Joseph Joseph Intelligent Waste Compost Bin Food Waste Caddy with Odor Filter and Ventilation, 1 Gallon / 4 liters, Graphite

I am a huge fan of anything Joseph Joseph. Their designs are very intelligent. This fits well on the counter and is not obtrusive. It is easy to clean. We use compostable bags and empty it daily, so smell is not an issue. The lid stands up on it's own and it is easy to replace the bags. It is lightweight, so it is easy to move around the counter if you have different food prep areas.

I know this is a compost bin but I needed something a little bigger than a desk top trash can I know it's unconventional but I use it as a trash can when im scooping my cats litter box ( I don't like holding the doggie bags when im scooping) it's wide enough so I don't drop any litter or gross stuff on the floor and plenty of inches in space left all around where the litter scoop doesn't touch the sides I have a 5.2 inch litter scoop. It is small and compact enough that it doesn't take up a whole lot of room but deep enough to hold a good amout of litter or other things for what you will be using it for. The lid stays up perfectly im not sure about smell since im not using it as a compost bin but I do not leave the scooped litter in there I take it out after and replace the bag for the next scoop. So i cant say anything about keeping smells out but For me this little bin is amazing and perfect for what I was looking for and what i need. It feels very sturdy. Super easy to clean and give it a good wash. Not really any assembly needed just pop the lid on and off the part where you put the charcoal filter you squeeze and push out if anyone is having trouble with that but super easy once you get the hang of it. The bin was a bit pricey but personally for me and what I needed to use it for was well worth the price I have a attached a video I use the doggie bags jumbo size 15 x 20 inches and it fits perfect.

This thing is great - you can flip up the lid and close it to keep the smell at bay - we rarely have food in it for more than 24hrs, so I don't know how well the odor gets absorbed. It stores easily under the sink and you can grab it easily with the handle. When you are ready to dump, the lid/handle comes off to dump with ease.

Does the job--easy to wash. However, the joint that connects the cover to the rest of the container froze in the freezer and broke off while opening. Albeit, it does not say "freezer-safe" but I would not put this on a counter where bugs can get to it, as there are openings in the bottom where smells can get through.

Like eeeeeeveryone, I had the giant silver gallon bucket with the double-filter lid...that required me to have one clean hand to lift the lid AND set the lid down on the counter (eww), so I am thrilled to have found this cutie! I can flip the lid up with a knuckle, and don’t have to sit a lid down on anything else. It’s the little things! 🤪 This IS much smaller than my last one, but I prefer that for two reasons: (1) I’m tossing my compost more often, so it remains “fresher;” and (2) I have enough bag left to properly tie it off before tossing into the green (curbside compost) bin. It also has a low profile on the counter. This thing is also super easy to clean! It does “sweat” a bit. I put a paper towel in the bottom of the bin before putting in a fresh bag. If ever there was an attractive compost bucket, this is it.

I've been using this for about a week after being very resistant to saving food scraps. I like the size - it's perfect for daily use. Our city has us add scraps to our green/landscape bin so composting is fairly straight forward. The countertop bin they provided us was just absolutely terrible so I've been hunting for a decent replacement ever since. This looks really nice in the kitchen, you wouldn't know it was full of food scraps. It's a good size, it's small so it doesn't take up too much space, but roomy and really easy to clean. The lid opens up nicely and is lightweight so it doesn't tip the bin (like the city provided one did...) The metal handle is also a great upgraded feature. It just feels sturdy and well made. It's still winter so the bugs aren't out yet, so I'm not sure how well this will deter pests. I'll update if we end up with a fruit fly problem.

This compost pail has changed my attitude about collecting food scraps for the compost bin. What I like: right size for a smaller household, nice design, it does not scream ‘garbage,’ lid opens and closes with ease allowing one-handed operation, little to no odor, very easy to clean. I use 3 gallon Biobags, twist the top edges and adjust the fit using the hole in the bucket. (But a bag is not even necessary). We only put food waste in it and empty it into our outdoor bin each evening. Other compostables go in a paper bag. One small fault: filters are not easily available.

I'm really happy with this compost bin. It is a perfect size for my kitchen. It is designed to have airflow, which is absolutely critical for odor, moisture and mold growth. The lid opens easily and the handle is very sturdy. I use the produce bag liners I already get from buying produce in the grocery store. It's not a perfect fit but I feel like it still works well. The charcoal pad helps with odors too, however, I have found that compartment to be harder to access. Tip: if your charcoal filter smells sour, you have too much moisture in your bin. Replace the charcoal pad and either air out or manage the moisture better.

Bought this to replace the mulfunction small step bin. Feel relief seeing the little caddy sits neatly on the narrow counter top. It means, no more bending over to discard unwanted produces and vegetables.

This one is great, i really like it! Its easy to clean, and it looks good on the counter top. It doesnt smell either. I buy small bags from the store and they fit perfectly. No need to buy the expensive ones from the same brand. I can recommend this one.

Very happy with my purchased. This is the right size that I was looking for and it has a filter that it doesn't smell. its looks great in my worktop kitchen very nice especially the handle, well made looks, good quality, easy to used and lid easy open. I would highly recommend this product to other customers and I would buy this again.
