I love this! It's beautiful and so functional. The magnet is extremely strong and the knives very secure. Mine currently holds 10 knives, front and back. I'm interested to see if it will hold my new honing steel, as well. Not really counting on it, but it'll be great if it does.Updated 5/17/24: surprised and delighted to discover that it holds my honing steel as firmly as it holds my knives. Surprising, considering the steel is about 1/2" in diameter, round, and quite heavy. Wouldn't think it has enough surface area to securely attach/cling to, but it is held quite solidly. Takes genuine effort to prise it away. Needless to say, knives are well and truly secured, as well. Very happy with this purchase.

We had a horizontally-oriented knife block taking up precious counter space. Our original plan was to mount magnetic knife bars but this magnetic knife block gave us a more elegant solution. We have more knives than the typical knife bar holds so we would have needed two. Because the block is double-sided, one block holds all of our knives. We have a drywall above 12" tile backsplash. We tried buying different knife bars but none of them were thick enough to easily clear the knife handles from hitting the tile when we grabbed them. The block eliminated that issue. Finally, it's portable so when we use our peninsula for food prep instead of our regular counters, it's easy to bring the knives with us. All that, plus the block itself looks beautiful. Magnet is nice and strong.

I love this item! My silverware drawer was overfilled with my larger knives, and this solved the problem. It’s very pretty and so useful!

Functions as designed. Looks great and holds even my biggest knife.

It’s pretty much what you would expect from the pictures. My understanding is cheaper options are not magnetic on both of surfaces and not as sturdy. No, the narrow sides are not magnetic.Magnetism doesn’t works about 1.5 inches from the outside edges of the surfaces. A little disappointing, but not a deal breaker. Magnetism does work all the way to the top of the surfaces. A very good product I highly recommend.

The walnut wood is beautiful. The magnates are very strong so the knives are secure. The size allows for a large chef’s knife.

Bought for outdoor kitchen. Holds all metal tools firmly.

This is the best knife block I've owned--I've been using it for about six months. This block works with my cooking style and saves a lot of counter space in my snug kitchen. Mine gets daily use and I've had no trouble with it. The block is made of nice materials and is easy to keep clean and orderly and there is strong magnetic holding power to keep knives where they should be. I keep four 6-8" chef's knives on one side and my vegetable cleaver and small utility knives on the other.

It is absolutely beautiful, well made and sturdy.

Does as stated was got as a birthday gift for my husband who is a Chef. He wanted a magnetic knife holder and was happy with this likes how it looks.May order another one for his father and brother
