I’ve purchased two packs of these, and compared to the 5-6oz packs of pie weights, these are a better deal that come in a sturdy storage case. However, each one of these I’ve purchased has come out to 1018-1019g or about 2.24 lb instead of 2.43 lb. Either way this is still a good deal and will fill up a standard 9” pie crust (9” top interior diameter x 1.25” height) at least half way, which is what I was looking for. Just rinse away the dust once you receive the pie weights, dry them out and then they’re ready to use. If you use foil instead of parchment paper to line the pie crust dough, you won’t have to wash the pie weights with soap since fat can seep through parchment paper but won’t through the aluminum foil. If you’re concerned the pie crust will stick to the foil, you can always lay some parchment between the foil and pie crust.

Left in bag to run through dishwasher. Still had coating and ran again. Not cooked with them yet and may need to order more to fill up to edges of pan to prevent slope.

It left dents on bottom of pie crust. On the plus side, no bubbles

Expected two (2) containers of beads, picture deceiving, weight of one(1) bag is not correct, was hoping enough for two(2) pies, not just one(1)! Who makes only one pie at a time?

I am very pleased with these weights. I took a chance on them since they did not have other reviews, and I am happy I did. This set has more weights than most sets of higher price. They arrived well packaged. There were no broken pieces and minimal white dust. I did rinse them before the first use and stored them back into the bag and box. I like the nice storage box with a clamp lid but it also comes with a very nice mesh bag if you choose to store them that way.It truly is 2 ¾ lbs. Many more than most sets I see.There are plenty of weights to fill a 9-10" pie crust about half way up the sides. If you do not wish to fill it so full, you can do two pies with this set. I have just used them for the first time and I do like using a lot in each pie, so am ordering a second set. In the past, I used beans for blind baking and was not happy with the results. These weights are heavier and conduct heat well.

I love these! They came quickly, they were not damaged at all. I love the packaging/storage as well, they have a mess bag and a sturdy plastic container with a lock lid to store them in. They will be perfect for baking my holiday pies, better than beans or rice, they can be cleaned and used again and I love the look of the, lol.
